So much personality is gone from the coaches in the league. Phat Phil, Spurrier, Les, Tuberville, Petrino, and even more recently, Fat Bert made media days so fun. Outside of Coach O and Muschamp, SEC coaches are such a snooze fest now.

Not necessarily. I think the only coach Saban got fired was Les. Phat Phil and Spurrier got old, Petrino was a sleazeball, Tuberville got bored of recruiting, Bert just wasn’t ever very good.

The guy that hates press conferences in the same way Belicheck does?

We are talking about SEC Media Days, not their personal lives.

Ok fair enough. But I will argue that his entertainment value outside of Media Days gives him a pass on being a press conference dud. But I understand your point.

Nothing will ever beat Fulmer getting subpoenaed at Media Days. Nothing.

Morris is way different. Curious if he's been reading the rant. Everything about him today is straight forward professional. Not a bad thing at all.

For sure if we are talking about him joining the conference since the ordeal. Before that he was just kind of known for being a jerk. That really didn't excite anyone while he was at Arkansas.

I miss Spurrier.

Fulmer and Petrino had the personalities of a catch-cloth. Tubbs wasn't much better, but he was funny when he needled Bama

Maybe just semantics, but I think Les got himself fired.
He refused to update his offense.

BTW....I still love Les. A great man.

Morris has quite a bit of personality... but its the "I'm meth addict currently on a three day speed binge while also butt chugging Red Bull." When he's on, the man is nothing but go, go, go.

When he's talking to the press he reigns himself in a lot, but you can still tell he really wants to cut loose and spend the next hour discussing TE blocking breakdowns at a speed that renders most of his words gibberish.

Schools tend to hire the opposite of the last coach. Bert was laid back and sarcastic. Morris is so wired and hyperactive that Gus Malzahn is probably considering staging an intervention.

Saban is probably to blame for Miles, Richt, Tuberville, Sumlin, Urban, maybe Spurrier, probably Chizik. Maybe some others indirectly.
