This is all on Dykes and his staff. If they're incapable of preparing them for this kind of stage, then stay home.

Dang you for making me take up for UGAY. It was the TCU defense that was supposed to stop UGAY'S offense from scoring. Not sure what y'all yankee bastages expect from a football team, but telling the 2nd,3rd, heck, even the 4th stringers to take a knee is BS! Y'all even play football up that way ? I don't think so.

Wrong.....Noboby wanted that.

After the azz kicking that Michigan handed down to you, you should not even have been there. It should have been another SEC team.
Of course, what America really wanted to see was another all-SEC finals. See this is what I am talking about. This is what the SEC wants. Who was the SEC team? 2 loss Alabama? No, the committee was right to have picked Ohio State. It only got it wrong in the pairings. Ohio State vs Georgia should have been saved for the finals.

Then Ohio State shouldn't have gotten creamed at home by michigan.

Nobody wants another All-SEC final, but you wanted an all-B1G CFP semi on NYE?
Additionally, your premise would require TCU to be penalized for losing their first game (a Big XII squeaker in OT) and dropped to #4, while elevating OSU to #3 for doing JACK shite on Championship Saturday, as they sat at home, following a medieval arse-kicking endured in your own stadium by your mortal enemies, who went on to win the conference?
GTFOH.

Yeah....that is exactly what we wanted to see, a potential Michigan - OSU game. Would be like watching a cripple fight. If I wanted that I would turn on South Park.
I suppose you wanted GA to dispatch Michigan and OSU to face TCU? Would that have made it better for you? Don't work that way when you get beat at home by your rival by 20 points.
And the two losses for Alabama both occurred in rival stadiums, on the road in a hostile environment, one in OT, with a combined score of four points.

Wish they would have hit 72. Just to show Sonny keep SEC out his mouth.

If Sankey, ESPN, and the SEC had their way then it would have been an all-SEC playoff. It should have been Ohio State vs TCU and Georgia vs Michigan in the semis and Ohio State meeting Georgia in the finals.
Nah.
Semis should've been #1 UGA vs #4 TCU and #2 UM vs #3 OSU. Final: #1 UGA vs #2 UM. Avoids TCU getting blown out.

Yeah. I never felt they ran up the score. The only way not to score was to kneel and punt which would have pissed everyone off anyway. Let
The backups run the ball. If TCU still cannot stop them, nothing you can do about it.

But you said TCU would win. How could anyone run up the score against a team you said would win? So, just another in a series of stupid comments.

I'll save my outrage for running up the score against ...CofCharleston or VMI etc. Against the "#2" team... Screw it ... Let TCU stop them. The talent is supposed to be equal

We’ve found a tiger-droppings member that never played competitive sports.
You train ALL YEAR, Grind to the bone for that moment. The “current playoff system” allows for Cinderella programs to slide & luck into a Championship Game. When I say “luck”, TCU got all the bounces in Michigan game etc. But they had no business playing with the big boys.
I do appreciate an UNDERDOG STORY, but if you step in the ring with the Heavyweights, whatever happens -happens.
And if you’re the Head Coach of a Major Program in the SEC, your backups are HUNGRY, they have been trying to “showcase their talents”, they have been “trying to maybe win a starting spot”, and if your a Coach in that position, you’ve got to give those guys a shot to showcase their talents on the big stage.
It’s TCU’s job to stop them, PERIOD, END OF STORY.
This mentality is the same as the Liberals Theory of “everyone should get a Trophy”.
Football is a violent sport, these guys are trained & coaches to step on the field and destroy the competition.
If TCU or their fans or anyone thinks that was poor sportsmanship, drop down in completion class & go play in the B-League.
Disclaimer: I do appreciate the TCU types of teams because it gives Underdogs the hopes of achieving the impossibilities of life, but you CANNOT hold it against UGA for balling out on the field of play on the big stage

TCU had their starters in for most of the game, so I imagine that GA wanted to make sure they kept their "foot on the gas" so to speak. If TCU hadn't wanted to get beat so bad, they should have made plays and stopped them. In the end, GA was just 58 points better. If they played that same game ten times, I'd pick GA by no less than 17 points each time.

Why not? If it set up the Ohio State vs Georgia finals that the nation wanted which was best for business. It would have attained record ratings.

I don't care about Alabama. They knew no team had lost 2 games and made the playoffs so they have no one to blame but themselves.

I'll never forget back in the 80s Da U housed Notre Dame. The next day, on the NFL Today show, Brent was practically crying and he asked Jim Brown what he thought of the Canes running up the score. Big Jim just replied, "Never limit my intensity."

But TCU deserved to be there because they had such a great season and all….if they deserved to be there, they should be able to stop georgias 2nd and 3rd string….lol

quote:You had us on the ropes for most of the game in spite of your injuries. MHJ didn't play defense. What's up with letting us score so many points to come back on top? Who on defense left the game injured that was directly responsible for your poor defensive performance? You realize that there are three facets to every game, right?
You won because of the FG and injuries to our team, who some have said was malicious on Georgia's part, not me but others.
You were up by two TDs in the 4th quarter. We didn't win because of the FG and injuries; you lost because of your lack of execution when it mattered most. We won because we executed when we needed to. You lost because you didn't execute when you needed to.
quote:Has he, or has he not, made a FG in a game of 50 yards or more?
Quit acting like the FG was not in his range. He hits them in practice on the regular.
He can kick 70 yarders in practice for all I care, but his range is whatever he can make from in live games. He barely made the FG before it, which was 49 yards, under much less pressure at the time.
