That’s a lot of typing but not a lot of convincing arguments on why I should fawn over a coach with only one or two seasons where he beat more than 2 ranked opponents. A lot of emotions in this thread saying I should just accept that Bill “Bad Competition” Snyder is automatically the best coach ever but not a lot of actua arguments.

And no “just trust me he’s awesome because KState is a shite school” isn’t a legitimate argument.

I got my MS degree from K State and when I was there we were competing with Wake Forest for the worst record in D1 history. After Snyder took over the program he consistently took chicken $hit and made it into chicken salad. I couldn't be prouder of him as a first class coach and an even better person. BTW my three daughters got scholarships to Bama, all graduated, two married Bama grads but the third is marrying a Miss St electrical engineering grad (still haven't figured that out). Roll Tide anyway.

Hail State now yall.

Manhattan reminds me the most of Starkville of any college town I have visited.

The Purple Wizard was literally one yard away from playing for a national championship in 1998.

More emotional responses with no arguments. Who knew SECRant was so overrun with liberals?

To argue such a ridiculous statement isn't worth my, or anybody else's time. It just shows what an idiot you are.

I rarely defend any Big 12 school, given our history and all, but when it comes to Snyder, I'll say he's a darn good coach. kansas use to have 2 dumpster fires of a program, now they only have one.

He stepped down several years ago and the program reverted back to the dumpster. So if I remember right, he hires himself to take over the program again. He's the poster child for "If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself."

Dear God, please stop. That was the most embarrassing episode in the history of the University of Missouri and, again, as an alum, it found the whole ordeal shameful. She's not there anymore, student 91210 or whatever his name was is silent, and those players in the photo, most of them are gone too.

Gave a moving tale about his 4 children once. His wife turned to the reporter next to her and said, "He has 5."

The guy most definitely is a really good coach, but all of the “one of the best if not the best of all time” nonsense means he’s definitely overrated. For some reason this stance gets half this board all emotional with blood on their pads, I don’t get it.

C'mon. I mean, so he offered a guy who murdered somebody, and didn't withdraw the offer until the media found out. So he let his QB accused of rape play in the bowl game, and then wrote a letter saying how sorry he was. So he doesn't give our bowl rings to former players if they cross him in any way.

He won a few games, he MUST be a nice guy.

"I wonder if he’ll end up being as wildly overrated as Snyder"

How do you go from the above statement to this: "The guy most definitely is a really good coach, but all of the “one of the best if not the best of all time” nonsense means he’s definitely overrated."
Who, of any significance, EVER said he was “one of the best if not the best of all time”? Walk away and leave this thread alone...STOP DIGGING YOUR OWN HOLE!

Probably the smartest of your 3

+ He will be able to fix stuff around the house
+ He will have a job and can support your daughter and grandkids
+ He will probably have evenings and weekends for your wife and grandkids

IMHO, as far as doing more with less (and fielding incredibly disciplined teams--esp special teams)--he's the GOAT. Snyder is one of only four HCs ever inducted into the College FB HOF as an active coach. Not sure that Saban could have done what Snyder did at K-State, but I don't think Snyder could have done what Saban has done at Bama. They're both incredibly well-suited for their respective programs.

People dogging on K State are killing me.

Manhattan, KS is a hidden gem. Nice campus, Aggieville is a legit campus corner, less than 2 hours from Kansas City, 1 hour exactly from Topeka, in the Flint Hills Region, very safe area, K-State has a nice campus.

I've been all over the US and world. Id choose Manhattan over several states and cities down South any day of the week.

Yea, I lived on Fort Riley (less than 15 miles from Manhattan), but if you haven't been here, I wouldn't knock it.

Bill Snyder is no Saban, but he's a respectable coach. He was loyal to his team, never jumped ship, and K-State fans were happy and content with that. I can respect that. He pulled off some upsets, consistently won bowl games, and is probably the last old school coach around.

Let's not waste our time on the Auburn coaching tree.

Under Snyder, Kansas State had a four-year streak of at least ten wins plus two additional two-year streaks. They had never won 10 games in a season before he arrived.

Auburn has only had one two-year streak of at least 10 wins in their entire history.
