*sigh*, Todd Monken said within the past hour that he is excited about Arik and that he is doing well. Can we stop now?

The actual rumor is that he hasn't been at practice and dealing with mental health issues.

Nobody in this thread wants to hear he is doing well. There has been no indication he is struggling at UGA with the exception of learning the offense. The rumor that started last night was clearly a troll and Monken just disproved it in his interview today.

I’m not at all surprised that a 3rd string safety at UGA is an instant starter at LSU
Well you shouldn’t be surprised, you know how shitty your defensive backfield is, you should be pissed. That your coaches can’t recognize talent that is on your own damn team. It takes a school with the moniker DBU to show you how it’s done!

What a stupid take this is.

Seven pages, haven’t read this thread past the first few posts
Is it safe to assume the contents are mostly LSU fans insisting the rumors are true, Georgia fans insisting the rumors aren’t true, and Alabama fans taking potshots at LSU? That’s what I would expect from SECR anyway
How close did I get

We’re better than Georgia in every single metric.
Of course, by virtue of their empty trophy case.
They get really salty IRL when you bring it up, though.
Trophy case aside, we’re still the University of Georgia, Athens, GA and you’re still Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA.

Honestly, I just hope the kid gets some help because he has some serious mental health problems. I’m not sure you know how serious.
Do you have some inside scoop because I’ve always been told he really struggled being far away from home, playing in empty stadiums for a really bad 2019 LSU team and having no personal outlet with the entire city shut down. Many college freshmen at all schools had issues last year and transferred closer to home. 2019 was a horrible year to be a new college student so far from home in locked down states.

Dude, that's everywhere. It's sports pragmatism.
When other SEC players get arrested for drugs, UGA fans talk about the thugs at those schools. When UGA players get busted for dope and guns, they talk about how the Athens PD is too tough on "kids that make a mistake".
When Justin Fields left the program, everyone all of sudden had all of this info on how his father was a bad guy, Fields couldn't figure out the playbook, Fields was a prima donna, Fields wasn't tough enough to battle for the job, etc.
After he succeeded at tOSU, then it was because Ryan Day's offense was easy and Day called all the audibles.
In reverse, when Kendrick got busted at Clemson, it was proof that Dabo was a fake Christian and such, but then when he transferred to play for us, "everyone deserves a second chance".
I only say this to be honest about our own fan base, but it really could be applied to every fan base throughout the conference. LSU fans ain't any better or worse than any other.
good post describing LSU fans to a tee

But any LSU fan judging this kid leaving to be closer to home should understand that this is not a typical situation and should support him. If that’s not enough I’m sorry.

He's got a point.
Maybe if Kirby was identifying his talent properly he could avoid getting cornholed by Ed Orgeron(who according to UGA fans, is working with less talent) 2 years in a row.
