Arik has legit mental health issues. This isnt some rumor. I really hope he gets the help he needs.

Unfortunately his brother got involved in his life and had his hand out bigtime. Hence, he is now at Georgia.

LSU fans in May: “We love you Arik! Come back!”

LSU fans in June: “frick that little shite”

And now they are spreading nasty rumors that have been proven false. So much for caring about the kid’s well being

majority of fans did not want him back but keep telling yourself that, guess we won't know if the rumors are true until he tweets his update from dollar general.

Once again, LSU fans love him getting his life back on track, but only if it’s at LSU. They’ll drag his name through the mud and say he doesn’t go to class at UGA, but we all know if he stayed at LSU they would all be preaching his road to redemption.

Two months ago LSU fans loved him and wanted him back. “He’s gotten things together and is going to community college” they said. Now they all say he’s a lazy bipolar crack addict locker room cancer. Goes to show why everyone hates LSU fans.

Dude, that's everywhere. It's sports pragmatism.

When other SEC players get arrested for drugs, UGA fans talk about the thugs at those schools. When UGA players get busted for dope and guns, they talk about how the Athens PD is too tough on "kids that make a mistake".

When Justin Fields left the program, everyone all of sudden had all of this info on how his father was a bad guy, Fields couldn't figure out the playbook, Fields was a prima donna, Fields wasn't tough enough to battle for the job, etc.

After he succeeded at tOSU, then it was because Ryan Day's offense was easy and Day called all the audibles.

In reverse, when Kendrick got busted at Clemson, it was proof that Dabo was a fake Christian and such, but then when he transferred to play for us, "everyone deserves a second chance".

I only say this to be honest about our own fan base, but it really could be applied to every fan base throughout the conference. LSU fans ain't any better or worse than any other.

Hmm, so you're saying this isn't completely true. . .

Bruh, LSU fans were saying they felt sorry for him and hoped he got his issues taken care of. Some wanted him back because he was good, others were concerned that he would be a locker room cancer. Quit trying to make up a false narrative

Is this why Georgia can’t win? Making guys third string that may be starter material at DBU.
I mean they had Justin Fields riding for Jake Fromm

Would you bench a player who took you to the NC the previous year in favor of a player who didn't win the job in practice? Be a bold and foolish move, Cotton. And tell me again what year Fields won his NC.

It’s unfortunate that a lot of our fans behaved like this. I think a lot of them didn’t know at the time how serious what he was going through was. Some still don’t and/or don’t care. And that’s unfortunate. But a lot do and support him.

I don’t know if these rumors about the blow up are true, but this kind of stuff is not far from what the LSU locker room has experienced in the past. But his issues go much deeper than that and I hope he is getting the proper help. He has a very bright future if he can learn to manage his issues.

Despite what anyone thinks, there is a significant proportion of LSU fans that feel this way. They’re not nearly as loud about his situation because honestly, it’s his personal business. But it also feels like a lot of this thread has just turned into repetitive trolling honestly.

And the majority of fans don't post on message boards. That thread diddly keeps referencing is a subset of several hundred LSU fans out of hundreds of thousands. Diddly has lived in GA his entire life, so naturally the only interaction and/or observations he can make about the LSU fans are posts he reads on the internet. For any fan base, the psychotic representation of a tiny portion of that fan base that posts on message boards doesn't represent the entirety of the fanbase. IRL, it's been very rare that I've had any actual issues with any fan base more so than isolated incidents, but there's assholes everywhere.

Very few actually said that. The problem with Fields/Fromm is that everyone compares the 2019 versions of them. In 2018 Fromm was #3 in the country in QBR. He torched Bama in the SECCG and his only poor game came against LSU.

Fields was a true freshman, and despite the talent, was not quite ready to start, especially with how well Fromm was playing. Everyone loves to pretend that Kirby told Fields to hit the road, but it was really just Fields going to a place where he had a starting job locked down.

And I certainly don’t recall anyone on here saying that Fields should start in 2018. People forget how good Fromm was in 18 because how shitty he was in 19. It all boils down to Kirby not guaranteeing Fields a starting spot for 2019.

Really gump, really. Were you not a little bit surprised with the vast war chest of the REC you let Georgia outbid you for him.

Either you got outbid by the bulldogs and there is a new Sheriff in town, (Until we teach Texas to play the real game anyway)

Or Saban didn’t really want him, which means he is complete head case.

I think we can both agree it’s probably the latter

Of course, by virtue of their empty trophy case.

They get really salty IRL when you bring it up, though.

You think this is just about fans. 85% of Democrats aren’t woke social justice nut jobs like it appears to be from Twitter. If there were as many right wing lunatics as it looks like from the Rant political board we would already be in a complete civil war.

10-15% of everything fringe gets 90% of all media including social media coverage and always has. Controversy sells

I will revise my statement. I initially said "everyone", but that was just me speaking colloquially. Many UGA fans just said, essentially, "good luck".

But, yes, I am an avid reader of many Georgia blogs, and there were numerous commenters that have made the claims that Fields' dad demanded that he start and was the problem, that Fields couldn't read a defense (which was later roundly mocked after his performance at tOSU), that he was weak for not sticking it out and competing, that he was a prima donna that expected to walk on campus and just be crowned the king, and there are even still UGA fans that blame him for his failure to execute the worst call by a Georgia coach in history (SECCG fake punt).

It's the ex-girlfriend/girl you didn't get syndrome, when she's with you she's a stunning beauty and when she dates someone else or commits to another team (in the case of recruits) you never really like her anyway or she's a whore.

My goal is not to rehash whether Fields should have started or not. That decision was made. But the reality is that ALL fan bases have their share of fans that love you when you are with them and despise you when you aren't. That's not something exclusive to LSU fans.
