I, for one, think the SEC West is going to be VERY different this year

No, this isn't a thread where I come on here and say that LSU will be the top team in the SEC and A&M and Bama are going down.
In all seriousness, I think it's going to be far different from everyone's predictions this year. You got Arkansas and Auburn who just hired very qualified coaches who seem to know what they're doing. They'll be looking to get some big wins this year, and I don't think it's stupid to say that it's possible one of them will get a win over A&M or Bama.
Then you have MSU and Ole Miss. I still truly believe Dan Mullen is a good coach who just hasn't had much luck this year. This is the year that I know he is looking for his big win. And of course, Hugh Freeze is a threat too.
This is, I think, is the first year in the SEC West where all teams have legit coaches who want to win. It's really going to be a struggle for the top teams to stay on top. I know many people think LSU is going to stuck this year. I think they'll struggle, but Les is still a good coach and he's not going to go down without a good fight.
It's safe to say we have some good football coming our way this season folks

You'll probably get kicked out of your club for this, but this is the smartest prediction I've seen. The SECW is going to be really tough this year. I dunno if Auburn and Arkansas can recover enough from truly awful years to contend, but they very well may recover enough to upset somebody. Ole Miss is obviously on the rise and both LSU and A&M were lucky to escape with wins last year. MSU - hard to say. Mullen is a good coach and it wouldn't surprise me a bit if they upset one of what I think we'll agree are the 3 favorites.
LSU lost a lot on defense but crazy Les seems to be some sort of defensive genius, always having a good D. A&M also lost a lot on defense, and I'm not sure that they won't be a modern day BYU - scoring a truckload of points but needing to because they can't make a stop.
I don't see any weaknesses in the defending NC's, unfortunatetly. Bama is going to be very good again. I guess we'll know more after 9/14.
The one thing that's an absolute certainty: this is going to be a fun year to watch.

It will be LSU, Alabama, Arkansas, TAM, MSS, Auburn, Ole Miss

No one will dominate the SEC West over the next decade. The big 3 will get their crowns, but there will be a lot of challangers.

Out of curiosity, who is the third team in the "Big 3"? Are we elevating auburn to the level of Alabama and LSU, or are we assuming that A&M will remain at the level they demonstrated for the first time in decades last year?
No flame, just curious.

Did we fire Saban? Kidding, you might be on to something there. I surely hope so. Would be great to see some clubs return to competitive level. Looking forward to some CFB, where's my helmet?

I try to wash those rational thoughts out of my head and focus on my maroon colored sunglasses that keep showing me that once A&M wins an mid September game, everyone will roll over in awe so we can march through the SECCG and win the crystal.
All while not breaking a sweat.
Seriously, good post.

Other than the Dan Mullen being a good coach comment, i think you do bring up some good points. I'm really interested in seeing how Bielema and Gus get it going. With AUB, some of those guys know Gus' style well (only 2 yrs ago he left) and I think they'll be better for sure. The West may not be as great....but I do think there is a lot of intrigue (at least for me) based on the coaching changes (including LSU's Cam Cameron).

Take a look aTm's schedule... It's almost as easy as Bama's... Almost... I , for one, think they get beat by Vandy though.

That's a very distinct possibility. Vandy and Vandy no more.

Wasn't this the model last year? See: LA Tech
