That sounds good but the fact remains, we had never seen the triple option and Ga Tech ran it well. It is what it is.
Wrong, you must be a kid MSU ran the triple option for 5 years.

I'm interested to see how y'all plan on stopping TJ Hockenson
AJ Epenesa might very well end up being the best DL to come out of this game as well.

Iowa is a team that is fundamentally sound but not really exceptional at any one spot.
they had arguably the two best TEs in all of CFB this season. I would call that exceptional.
I would say they're damn good at DE as well where they have a SR Anthony Nelson who will be drafted around round 3 this year, and AJ Epenesa a SO who was a 5* top 10 national recruit and already being projected as a top 10 draft pick in 2020.

One of those tight ends isn't playing

The Mackey Award winner and best TE in the country is still playing, and they were already loaded about 4 deep with legit players at TE. Hockenson alone still makes Iowa exceptional at TE.

When is the last time you saw a tight end dominate a CFB game, let alone a defense like State?

Not sure what makes you think Hockenson will need to "dominate" for Iowa to win, and State's defense is great because of their DL so I'm not sure how you think that will stop Hockenson from making catches. That will be an interesting matchup btw, one of the top DLs in the country vs the best coached OL in the country, and I don't think State has lined up against an offense that will trot out 3 TE sets, or has a TE like Hockenson who's a more impactful blocker than most teams LT.
But anyway, Hockenson and Fant both dominated games for Iowa from the TE spot this year. One game Iowa produced 4 TDs from the TE spot, and at least one game where both of them went over 100 yards
The SEC has had plenty of great TE just in the last 5 year's capable of changing the outcome of a game.
Hunter Henry, OJ Howard, Hayden Hurst, Jace Sternberger, Evan Engram
Plus, you might remember a TE by the name of CJ Uzomah catching a game winner against State in 2013. He's starting in the NFL now

Didn’t really answer my question but sweet I guess

Well, actually, it wasn't that long ago Ole Miss had a TE that carved up defenses but your point is well said. Against our defense, no TE is going to carve us up. I worry more about THEIR defense and OL to be honest.

What's your definition of dominating a cfb game?

Our TE caught 6 passes for 159 yards and three TDs in one game.

Does the name Evan Engram ring a bell? That TE gave people fits. Ole Miss had a jewel in that guy. Good damn I was glad when he was gone.

I happen to think Iowa is pretty good, but so is State. State should have the more talented front if they don't phone it in.
