I see a lot of my fellow LSU fans glad we may not have to play Alabama or Florida every year now. Obviously it makes it easier to make it to a natty. Lsu hasn’t done too bad playing for them compared to its peers but you still aren’t going to win them every year or every other year or every 3 years because your schedule is a little bit easier.

But what you will lose are games that do happen every year that are usually incredible spectacles of sport and history. I really don’t care for where college football has been heading, seemingly attempting to shed every tradition it has, the rivalries being the most important ones, on its way to being a mini NFL.

I love playing Alabama, Florida, Ole Miss every year. These are great, historical games, with animosity bread by playing continuously for decades. We will never replicate that with Oklahoma or Texas. We’ve barely gotten some sparks together with Texas A&M after a decade with them.

Tl:dr, college football is evolving, and I think it’s clearly losing what has made it so special for 100+ years all for the almighty dollar. It sucks.

1. LSU doesn’t have a rival

2. LSU will play each team every 2 years, which is enough for me

3. UGA doesn’t get to hide in the regular season anymore

Totally agree - and in the span of one year, I find myself wondering how much longer I will follow it. The changes are just too much for me

UGA/AU and Bama/UT not playing yearly is absolutely sickening. It honestly hurts my heart that the DSOR has existed through multiple world wars, worldwide plague, depression, etc. but will finally end because of money. It's disgusting.

But hey, this is what we knew woudl happen once the floodgates opened by turning amateur college athletics into a business so the players coudl get paid and be on their own video game. So congrats to those of you that asked for this, I guess.

You are bitching about a schedule controlled by the SEC conference by demanding that more games are managed by the SEC Conference.

(Sees LSU).
Yup. Checks out.
Fanbase with shitty AD and shitty OOC and lacks the balls to demand better regarding the one thing that the AD can control.

Evolving implies that it's naturally improving into a better version than it was. Throwing away everything that makes the sport awesome simply for greed and profit isn't really "evolution" IMO. Although that's splitting hairs I suppose.

What's going to happen in 10 years when these "super conferences" with 20 teams does materialize? Teams accustomed to 9,10 wins or more are going to start going 6-6 and evern 5-7 periodically. That is just bound to happen.

That's also what the NFL is for. I for one,do not like one iota the direction things are headed.

Agree with this 100%, but I’d say it has already evolved and lost what made it special. It’s in the imploding stage now.

Bahahaha another dumb frick UGA fan

1. Scott Woodward is heralded by anyone that’s not a dumb frick as a top AD

2. Have you seen LSU’s OOC schedule? LSU will have a top 10 matchup against FSU in Week 1, USC in the opener of 2024 and Clemson in 2025-2026

3. You truly are a dumb frick

You'd be pressed to find more of a CFB traditionalist than myself, I have always enjoyed TSIO, WLOCP, and TDSOR amongst others. But the truth is we should have canned divisions long ago. There would have been SEVERAL times, 2011 included, where there would have been 2 teams from the traditional West or East divisions in Atlanta. Yep. Some may have been a rematch.

The West/ East has been cyclical re... division quality. SOS had his reign of terror, Nick has kicked arse, LSU and AU have been consistent winners in the game and Kirby is just scratching the surface.

We'll get to keep some of those rivalries, I expect more because the SEC will eventually go to a 9 game schedule. But, piss on espn and disney... don't give them a frickin thing for free.

Is that all?

No wonder you are desperate to drop an OOC game.

Like I said, your AD sucks and couldn't put together a decent OOC slate if your entire fanbase expressed that they want quality football games.

I'm completely fine with it. Scheduling fairness matters! Us for instance:why should we be the only program that has to play the 2 most dominating programs in college football while everyone else gets to avoid them? And those 2 said programs hardly ever play each other!
#End permanent opponents!

Clemson is a highlight that you chose.

Your 9th conference game threatens to pull that rivalry away from UGA.

Maybe you should let that settle in.
The game you are excited about is the exact game you are threatening to take away from UGA, Florida, South Carolina, and Kentucky.

What is stopping the SEC from someday developing and distributing their own streaming platform? Would it truly be that cost prohibitive? I don't quite understand what ESPN offers in this day and age. Some cameras, commentators, and a studio?

ESPN gets more eyes than the B1G network or the Texas longhorn network.

It would be cutting your own audience size to spite your face.

ESPN also helps recruiting (national broadcasts versus a regional channel/package)

That’s short-sighted. Auburn fans have never run from playing Bama & Georgia. Dye called it Amen Corner for a reason. Don’t give up hard-won history. It’ll cycle back around.

The expense of the broadcast is shouldered by them?? ... there had to be a reason the SEC network went with espn.

So, when will it cycle back around, pray tell? We've beaten Georgia 3 times in 18 years....many of those years I didn't even watch the game because I and everyone else knew what was coming. There's nothing wrong with wanting bama and Georgia to play more than once every 7 years!
