Dabo is a full blown gump, I wouldn’t be surprised if he crawled to Tuscaloosa from Clemson when Saban retires

5 years ago? Sure. But now? Why would he other than that its his alma mater? He's basically got a dream scenario right now and has anything and everythign he'd ever want in a gig, not to mention he built it himself and its basically "his". Why throw that away to follow the best coach of all time at a place where the first time they lose 2 games the fans will want him gone?

Dabo is already the GOAT @ Clemson.....66% of the National Titles and about 30% of the conf championships

Not a chance I would take that job. Those people don’t like him because he’s beaten them twice in the national championship, the expectations he’d have at Bama would be through the roof, and following arguably the greatest coach of all time? No chance I would take that job when I have a program built already and is arguably the best college football program now

No clue, but $100M over 10 years to coach at your alma mater and dream job is a hard thing to ignore.

If his goal is to keep winning national titles, it's much easier to do that at Clemson than it is at bama. I don't see him being the first hire after Saban, but you have to think the call of coaching at your alma mater is very strong.

All would be forgiven if he won national titles at Bama. BUT...I think Bama's fanbase would be quick to turn on him if he took the job and didn't win them a national title in his first 2 seasons

That’s what I’m saying. They’ll expect national titles every year and if he were unable to do that early on, the fans and donors would not be happy. Too much pressure to coach at Bama and follow up Saban

I said the same thing yesterday before the game, OP. I hate both Bama and Clemson (mainly because of Dabo), but if I had to choose, I wanted Clemson to win just so he continues to build a dynasty at Clemson. Saban isn't going anywhere anytime soon, but the last thing I want is for Dabo to take the Bama job when Saban retires.

I don't understand why if you have a choice you wouldn't you choose Gus building his own dynasty at Auburn?

Dabo would be a fool to not to want to come here. Coach Saban was a good coach before he come here. He was good but nothing special. With the Bama traditions and special resources and fans we got here we made him the 2nd GOAT to walk the Tide sidelines. Dabo is a better coach than Saban so just imagine how it will be with him here. He will be the 3rd GOAT faster than than Saban was the 2nd. And he is an Alabama boy. You can tell the respect and love he has for Alabama football when they was talking to him before the game yesterday. I knew right then and there that he is gonna be our next coach.

He’d have to be insane to leave what he’s built at clemson.

He will get bored at Clemson, already been there 11 years. Nothing left to accomplish there.

Saban will retire from Bama after the 2020 season. Then Dabo comes home.

If he does, he won't have near the success he's having at Clemson. He'll be Les Miles post 2011.

It would not make sense, at this point, for him to leave Clemson. He is the Bear Bryant of Clemson.

I still would not rule out him leaving Clemson for Bama though.

Saban won't stay at Bama but 4-5 years, tops.
