I think a lot of it is perception. LSU as a team and program is still actually just as competitive and fine as ever. But the administrative side is a disaster. Get that straightened out and some good PR (Landry needs to STFU) and things are good. But yeah, from a PR perspective, this is a low point. The management and timing has been abysmal. You can try to spin it positively, but oof. Reality is, it looks bad, especially coming from a program with LSU’s reputation.

And it doesn't help how many other big schools are in the market for a HC. This means competition, which means bidding wars and the last thing LSU needs is to overpay for another coach the way they did for BK. But I'm afraid in this market, everyone (the big schools) looking to get a coach or keep their coach is about to severely overpay.

Firing Kelly midseason was a mistake, IMO. You can't go after a new coach whose still coaching and you have assistant coaches trying to hold the team together and trying to keep the recruiting class together while looking for new jobs. You probably should consider going after a really good coordinator and let him build the program up from scratch instead of paying a gigantic sum to a big name and throwing in another huge buyout clause. You want young, aggressive, and hungry, not "well established". Thank you for your attention to this matter.

as much as I'd like to see it happen, I think there's too much talent and guaranteed recruiting success to not do as good as you were doing.

What's BK done....he lost 4 in 21', 3 in 22', 4 in 24' and was going to lose at least 4 this year...so 4 losses and a basic bowl win is the mark to beat.

Those hating on Landry were hating on BK a week ago. At least Landy was able to do something about the BK problem.

I think its just starting.

It doesn't appear the state of Louisiana , or the university even know who has the authority to hire.

No AD

Governor dipping his dick in everything but thinks the BCS is still a thing. Also says he doesn't want to pay a lot. Will probably be looking for some 3M a year coach. He's making every story about Auburn and Texas boosters look sane.

Its already eclipsing Tennessee levels of hilarity and the search hasn't even kicked off.

Grab a chair folks, dis gon be good

Your governor must actually hate LSU

LSU has no president, the governor, who by the way attended another college is running the show has trashed the athletic director and has now apparently fired him, the program has reneged on the terms of Kelly’s buyout, and everybody is watching it go down on social media.

Lane Kiffin or any other in demand coach won’t touch this dumpster fire. Orgeron is looking better all the time.
