Have you seen Ty Simpson's stats? He averages a 55% completion rate. That's not that good. I was surprised to see he's actually a good runner and averaged 6 ypc so far.

Joe Burrow had a 57% completion rate in 2018.

I wish there was a way for Alabama to win a conference or national title with a first year starting QB.
Oh wait, we have.
Three times since 2009.
ETA. Four times since 2009!
ETAA: We made the CFP with four others as first year starters.

Big difference in 1st team reps vs 2nd team reps in terms of situation, personnel, and rhythm with the offense. Hard to judge until he is full time in the seat. He shouldn't have to "win" too many games. Bama has a lot of tools and experience this year. Absolutely could have a solid year with a QB who just avoids putting the team in bad situations.

I hope not. Burrow got blanked 29-0 by Alabama in his 1st year as a starter. In Baton Rouge. At night.
We need Simpson to perform more like these guys:
Greg McElroy
AJ McCarron
Jake Coker
Mac Jones

Maybe like Mac, guys with the skillset of Coker, McElroy, etc aren't good enough to carry an offense within the DeBoer scheme.

Can you please post the gifs of Dallas Turner’s hit on Daniels, Mettenberger flopping on the ground like a fish, Fournette gettting decleated by Foster, and Jefferson tossing the National Championship trophy to the Alabama defense in the Sugar Bowl? An Alabama fan would relish such a request.

Not sure why, but it does feel like Bama may have a very good team this year.
The do have to overcome an unproven QB (they have done this before), and their coaching staff has to do a better job this year. However the stockpile of talent seems to be there for them to make a run this year.
