Nobody has said he is the best coach in the SEC, but in 3 seasons he has done a good job and has to be considered in the top half based on results as compared to previous performance before he arrived

exactly- Mullen can actually coach- the other two? Not so much

So in Starkville the hierarchy goes, Jackie Sherrill (won the West at State look at who came before and after him just like Mullen), guy who wins 5, 9, and 7 games in three seasons. Two guys with National Championships, one with an SEC title, one with multiple. Seems about right.

Of course you had good raw numbers, but where did having a shitty arse passing attack for the 4th year in a row get you in the big game?

Uh could it possibly have had to do with the QB situation he had to deal with for those 4 years? Not saying that isn't his fault and he isn't responsible at the end of the day for that situation but some of it was bad luck begin with due to having Ryan Perrileaux being a total screw up.

Les Miles owns the best offense in school history (Jimbo was nowhere in sight). Two of the top three ever, and led the conference in rushing and scoring last year.

Fair enouugh. Do you place the blame of the offensive struggles in the years preceding 2011 on Miles or Crowton?

This is irrelevant. Miles has a higher rated offense at LSU than Chizik has a defense. You want to bang on Miles for 2009 and 2010? Chiz has finished second the last or last in defense in the SEC all but 2010. Even in 2010 they were only 8.

I don't care who get the blame or credit. It has to be better. The guy has had rippin offenses everywhere he's been. He won with a guy that got fired from Maryland. He won 10 games with the 11th ranked offense in the conference. He flat out can coach. The struggles are over blown. In 2008 we had the fifth best offense in the league. In 2009 and 2010 we struggled, but in 2010 we won a lot of games for a bad offense. Winning is the one thing that Les has over all other comers.

Pretty shitty ranking if you're making Les out to be some kind of offensive mastermind.

I am an LSU fan and agree with you bud, I was answering the other guy for talking about the offensive struggles the past 4 years.

I followed. The point was, it is irrelvant. The quantitative facts suggest one thing, Mullen is not in the same class as the other two.

Considering Daniel has never finished higher than 8th, I'm not sure why you want to have that debate. #Relf-fense

I can't wait until next season when our MSU posters will taunt Auburn with the fear the Dak Prescott posts as has become the ritual on the SECr. Next year: the season where Arkansas and State will dominate.

I LOL'd.

Poor State fans, they just can't help it. Lord help them all when that average coach leaves them for a much better program (I could blindfold myself and point out a better college on a USA map at any time).

Preceding 2011 - Crowton.

With Crowton at OC, the LSU offense took a step back each year. Abysmal playcalling and poor QB play were a major source of the offensive issues, Gary Crowton was also QB coach.

In 2011 - Crowton finally gone, the LSU offense during the first 8 games was almost perfect. A rushing attack consisting of 4 very talented RBs, and a solid passing attack that hit timely deep passes and converted 3rd downs. The passing game didn't set records, but it was a balanced offense LSU had not seen in many years.

Enter JJ -

If LSU runs the Jarrett Lee offense with Mettenberger, we will be fine offensively.

I'm not. Just easily rebuffing your erroneous point on the second page. You are trolling; you aren't interested in what the facts are. It is why you keep adjusting the target in each of your responses.

-Miles' offenses without Jimbo were pretty unremarkable

-Actually he owns the best offense in school history without Jimbo and had a pretty potent one last year.

-I can't believe you are saying Miles is an offensive mastermind.

Why is he 0-6 against those two then?
