It isn't happening. In 2011 there was no question us and LSU were the two best teams in the nation. This year isn't like that. The committee will not put too teams from the same conference into the playoffs.

Oh god, the original question is a bit cruched together in meaning. OK, if, for example, you imagine Bama going undefeated the rest of the way in a dominating fashion, and Ole Miss going undefeated and winning the SEC, yeah, if lots of the other top teams lose lots of games, it's hypothetically possible Ole Miss and Bama would both go, but they're weighting these conference championships pretty heavily. Why even ask the question at this point? Well, whatever, ask if you want, but you're dealing with the highly unlikely.

Lot of ball to be played yet. But it is a possible scenario. Could you take an SEC Champ one loss UGA over Alabama?
Of course they would. They can talk about not having to take a conference champ all they like, but until they do otherwise I don't believe it.
No conference is getting two teams in.

So you think they take a team that lost by 28 at home over the team that did it to them if they both have a loss?
The uproar would be epic.

Why even worry about this right now damn people

Then just get rid of the conference championship game....why play the extra game if it means nothing?

Then the committee is a worthless POS. True Dat.
That is why we had to go to a selection committee full of humans whereas in CBB we get the all important RPI. With an RPI in football the Big Ten would get screwed, like the SEC does in CBB.

Look, the "best" teams have the record to show it!!! Period!!!
The committee has to have a set of guidelines that do not waiver under any circumstances!!!
If you can't make it to your conference championship game, then you don't deserve to be in the playoffs!!! The best you can be is 3rd or 4th best in your conference........
Screw RPI, strength of schedule, and all the other crap!...........and before anyone mentions OSU, yes I agree that they have a laughable schedule; but you can't have guidelines that are "subject to change" that accommodates or eliminates a team or teams........

This topic has been discussed to death, I can tell you almost guaranteed
It will be very RARE for ANY conference to get 2 teams in, period.
They will do their best to take the best 4 conference champions.
The ONLY way a conference will get 2 teams in is if there's some several weak conference champions with 2 losses and such.
It will happen occasionally, but not very often.

So in this scenario..Alabama wins out. UGA wins the East and beats Ole Miss in the SECCG. The committee takes the team that got their eyeballs beat out in a head to head game with Alabama by 28.
If UGA were to win the thing I would almost bet you AP and Coaches Poll go Alabama. And we will claim it too. Legitimately.
In another one...Ole Miss chokes to a 2 loss East winner. Alabama sits there with one loss. Do you conference champ chumps send the East champ?

They might take both.
But if they only took one, it would be Georgia.

This. The reason the committee was created was to prevent 2011 from ever happening again. Otherwise they would have just taken the top 4 of the BCS instead of this shitty committee.

The committee has stated over and over again that head-to-head will only be used to break a dead-even tie.
Georgia would have good wins over Florida, Georgia Tech (maybe), and Ole Miss.
Alabama would have good wins over Georgia, aTm, LSU.
That definitely favors Alabama. However, you have to believe the conference championship would put Georgia over the top.

That would be one hell of a joke. GT this year IS a joke. UF would not be that good a win if they lose to LSU.

I wouldn't worry much about Ole Miss.

They would at least have a legit claim if they ran the table. A Two loss UGA or UF not so much.
