Truth. It is a very important game as well as taking the MSU game. Momentum would be huge going into LSU with a 3-0 record and two good wins under their belt. Tall order to fill.

better stated, if they beat clemson i could see 8 or 9 wins

if they don't beat clemson it's going to be a long season.

I would say 3 losses but that defense was awfully soft last year - worse than I've seen in a while. LSU ran and passed on them at will so they need some pretty dramatic improvement there.

With 2 new coordinators, I see this as a rebuilding year for Auburn. Either the new OC will have to adapt to players recruited for the spread, or the players recruited for the spread will have to adapt to his offense. New DC may be good, but you can't fix the bad that Roof put in place. I think making a bowl would be a good year for Auburn, but if they can pull out some upsets I can see them getting 8 or 9 wins. I just don't see this as another 2010 miracle year.

I don't care how Auburn fares in the SEC as long as they lose to Bama, but I hope they demolish Clemson. Screw the ACC.

Who have we recruited for the "spread" than cant play pro-style. It is our 4 TEs or our new fullback with 2 years of starting experience? Or is it our WRs that are all over 6'2.

The D was bad because we had no returning starters. That problem is fixed now that 20 of 22 of the defensive 2 deep is returning.

To answer the OP, AU goes 10-2 in 2012.

This season is dependent on QB play and improvement on the DL. If we can start getting more pressure on the opposing QB, the secondary will play better. I think the QB position is much bigger issue for this team. I think Dyer being in the doghouse last year did have an impact on the running game. Our production went down putting more pressure on Trotter and Moseley. Hopefull, we can avoid that. Anyone trying to accurately predict our 2012 season with two new coordinators is kidding themselves.

One of your tight ends is arguably the best player on the team. You do him a disservice with your statement. Your offensive players have been learning spread plays. It's not a stretch to say a learning curve will develop unde a new OC. Or he will add in some spread plays to adapt his playbill to the players on the roster, as he said he would. Neither is an ideal situation. I'm not sure how anything i said was inflammatory. I think you're just mad a Bama fan said it.

I really don't see the defense improving until the stacks gets his players in, but maybe that's the sceptic in me. Even new starters in the SEC should perform better than Auburn's D has the past 3 years. I think it will take time to undo that.

I think OL was the root of all our problems last year. And how it goes, the team goes this year. Hopefully the Oline will improve this year (cant be much worse.) Maybe we can have a game manager at QB, but will still allow us to attack when we want to do so. That was an issue last year, we did not attack on 1st down. Cant ever remember a 1st down pass.

No it was a dumb statement to say, regardless of team affiliation.

I don't expect them to finish any better than 4th in the West next year. Whatever record that ends up being (3 losses for sure).

9-3 is a pretty damn good year in the SEC west. Until AU settles its QB situation with somebody who can actually play, and Loeffler's offense (whatever it is.) takes hold, I would be THRILLED with that record.

I think AU will be in a very, very good position, not this year, but in 2013. Much depends on QB development and whether the OC is worth a shite.

I don't see Auburn beating UA, Georgia, LSU or Arky. I don't mean to be a dick but someone explain how KF is going to lead Auburn to victory against one of those teams.

I'll say 9-4 with a chance to go 10-3 and keep the Chiz's 10 win a year record in place.

We have all of those games at home, including Bama considering we own BDS.
