While wrong, your points are missed by most because they read like the ramblings of a drunken retard

This thread has it all. Aggies and Horns arguing over academics. Barners convincing themselves Harsin is a better hire. And LSU fans being LSU fans.

In coaching, it's a helluva lot easier to find your answers when you're working with the best talent in the country. Sarkisian is the 5th damn OC to win a national championship at Bama under Saban and the 3rd to produce a Heisman winner.

The problem is you can't take that roster of five stars to the next gig and the same ole shite doesn't work when the other team's 3 technique is blowing up your guard.

Yes, Gator the sip - I still do. It’s hard for me because I have some great friends that went to Texas. Then I have to deal with your kind, and hope for the whole program to go up in a tornado as a result. The ones that actually went there aren’t that bad

It’s the rest of the tshirt fan base that is so incredibly obnoxious.

Texas has countless boosters that can buy him out on their own. If he takes your advice he better win and win quick, as in if he is 0-3 vs OU and wins 10 a year he can be canned it is the relationships with the UT money men that buys grace not a big contract

Coach Sark has a huge problem at UTexas, he has to deal with boosters that built (or sustain) multi-million dollar businesses, so think they can also do the same thing at UT. He had better be able to control them. TexasAM has the same problem, as I imagine the whole state of Texas as well.

The State of Texas has won 1 NC in football since 1970. Oklahoma has won 4, Alabama has won 11, Florida has won 11

Forgot all about Miami. I was trying to add up the UF and FSU ones and not including Miami.

Does that 11 count UCF's?

I have always thought- prob the only person who could go into Austin and make that program into a power- is/was a Saban. Of course based on his coaching abilities - but mainly, I always thought- the one guy who could go in there and keep the big $$ folks in check- and be the absolute dominant force in the program would be saban.

We will see if one of his disciples from the Saban’s island of misfit toys can be strong enough to do it.

We are fortunate at LSU, we don’t have to deal with that on that scale. You see- poverty has its advantages!

He's so good that Reuben Owens just decommitted after his visit to Austin this weekend. Was talking to Manning a lot as well

Not sure why Steve would spend a minute of his day trying to control people outside the building that will not be controlled. His time is need to control his team. That bunch is a very undisciplined team that played with an attitude that never matched their record.

Steve is going to get paid millions for his 2,3,5 years regardless so spend all your time on what YOU can control.

Because the longhorn program is a different beast. The head coach answers directly to the big time money guys. They are the ones who hired him, they want direct access, and they hold him accountable - not the AD. That has been the issue at Texas for a long time

It will take a strong personality to change this behavior, which is why I'm so glad Texas overlooked a no-nonsense guy like Campbell. There is a reason that the program has been described by outsiders as poisonous.

But Sark will get paid well before he leaves in four years as an emotional wreck from dealing with both the boosters and fans.

Though not to that extent, Alabama was going through this when Saban was hired.

Best thing he did was to immediately tell everyone else to GTFO.

Tuberville did the same. Winning solves a lot of those problems, but they can creep back pretty quickly when you start losing some games.

Saban had a couple of advantages Sark doesn't though. First was that Alabama was a broken program and fanbase at it's lowest point in half a century. The three Mikes, probation, and only 5 winning seasons in the last 10 years. The next stop was 21st century Tennessee and everyone knew it. Texas isn't there yet.

The second is that Saban walked in the door wearing a ring, no worse than 2nd in the SEC west in his 6 years at LSU, and zero losing seasons as a college head coach. If anyone had the gall to challenge him, a simple "scoreboard, biatch" was the only reply needed. Sark, on the other hand, doesn't have so little as a single 10 win season as a head coach. A strong personality won't do it. He's got to have success early or those money guys will start the campaign that he's just another Saban assistant who can't do it without Saban.
