46-35 vs. 76-24? Maybe your guardian can explain those numbers for you
Pac-12 vs Mountain West and Sun Belt doesn’t affect those numbers at all?

Its hilarious how every fan will throw this out even though that happened 6 years ago and he’s been sober since. But all posters on tRant are perfect and without sin. Everyone knows this.

Harsin took over a well oiled machine in Boise State and lived off Chris Peterson's success.

Sark got to Washington and rebuilt an absolute trainwreck into a respectable program. Yeah he was a drunk idiot at USC but if he's truly redeemed then Auburn missed out big time

No, he isn't. He may be a better OC but it's not even close as HC.

Both are better than anybody who Gus Malzahn hired.

Yet, Auburn hired Gus and then gave him a raised and extension just to fired him the following year! Smart move by Auburn.

It still happened.

I've never been publicly fired for drinking. Neither has our coach.

But I'm sure he will be fine in Austin.

That implies Auburn had a chance to hire him. They did not

How many fricking times do you have to hear that he wasn't fired the year after getting that extension? What the frick is wrong with you? Why can't you understand such a basic concept?

and neither have I? I’m struggling to grasp your point here and I’m starting to think you don’t have one

Again, for the mentally challenged. Most college towns have a lot of bars. Auburn does not.

Did Harsin have SEC talent vs those teams and Sark have Sunbelt talent vs Pac12 teams?

And to be honest the Pac 12 is the only P5 conference worse than the Big 12. Your theory hold no water if you are able to think.

So no coach has ever moved from a lower tier conference to a higher one and been successful?

Now show me a coach who got shite canned by an upper tier conference then was wildly successful in another. The Pac 12 was wide open while he was at USC and he was incredibly average. The pressures of that job made him drink, the pressure at Texas will facilitate his relapse. Good luck

Our most prominent coaches (Bryant, Dye, and maybe others in the SEC) probably would've been fired at some point if the beat writers hadn't been on the down-low back then.

That's a good point.

I don't think Gus drank, but he also wasn't a good coach. Maybe that was the problem?

But actually, 2 rather mediocre seasons, one very good, and one very bad isn’t really wildly successful

you’re right - usually teams that finished 0-12 in the weakest power 5 conference are replete with talent. It’s offensive they didn’t go to the BCS his first year.

I never once said that…?

pretty sure Ed O won a national title at LSU going 15-0 after numerous bowl-less seasons at Ole Miss, his most recent head coaching job before taking the job at LSU.

man… auburn is really hung up on someone recovering from alcoholism. I had no idea you and everyone else associated with auburn were so above reproach like yourself
