How much do LSU fans regret not firing coach O this year and hiring Jimbo

LSU Athletic department is a mess. Idk if jimbo Fisher could have straightened it out but at least you don’t feel like you are watching an episode of swamp people every time he gives an interview.

Not even a little bit, and I’m not a huge Orgeron fan.

I don't care who the coach is, but Jimbo ain't worth what he's getting. He tried that shite last year, and I'm actually glad Aleva turned it down.

Jimbo is not the sharpest knife in the drawer either. I'd rather hear O speak.

Coach O won 9 games in a season where everything could have fallen apart. The man is not Lombardi, but he deserves credit. I am not upset nor do I regret having Coach O.

This might actually turn into the Sam Bradford/Jamarcus Russell situation, when they both signed ridiculous guaranteed contracts after the draft. They stole all that money and the entire NFL started making rules to limit salaries after that.

Aggies were not very wise spenders to begin with. You really think Sumlin was worth $5 mil/year and that buyout?

Why does it matter what you pay him? Especially if he's better than O.

Not at all. I wish we would have fire les and gotten Jimbo in ‘15 but 10 years 75 mil is too damn much for a coach that just went 10-3, 10-3 and 6-6.
Hell were gonna be 10-3 with O.

I mean right now Texas am is a better job than LSU since their big brother Texas is on a decade long struggle journey. So jimbo probably made the right decision. He sees the dumpster fire as well as every body else

That's extremely debatable. Seems like Pruitt may have been more valuable than Jimbo when they declined like hell after he left.

It will work out. Here is my prediction. LSU hires Hugh as their OC and in a year or two O get fired and Hugh becomes the head coach.

If they would have hired Jimbo for 4-5.5 million to a three or four year deal, I would have been pissed off.
For a 10 year 7.5 million guarantee, I am not pissed at all. That is a huge investment for a coach who went 6-6 this year.
Jimbo is obviously a much better coach than O, but I am happy LSU is not on that financial hook.

I’m not sure LSU can afford jimbo Fisher right now. Didn’t they almost have to shut down the football program the state was so broke?

I'm glad lsu shops at walmart for coaches.

I don't agree with hiring ANY coach at $75 million guaranteed.
That's just absolutely absurd to me.

Piggy pulls a coach out of SMU and all of a sudden they're not the dumpster fire of the SEC West.
Love it.
