I don't think they should have hired coach O but no way LSU should have paid Jimbo that kind of money. I could be wrong and he ends up being very successful but I don't see it as a can't lose hire. Gene Chizik also has a national championship.

I'm inferring that someone has not been paying much attention to college football dating back to Jimbo's days at LSU and being the legendary Bobby Bowden's successor at FSU, and that coaching tree extends DEEP. Dude's incredibly talented and that has translated to his results and body of evidence.

Not a good hire for Auburn, dude was 5-19 prior at Iowa State and basically relied on Gus Malzahn and Cam to win that natty. I don't credit Chizik that much for that natty and likely rightly so.

LSU was breaking in a new OC, our best offensive player was playing hurt and best defensive player had been AWOL. Our QB was coming in from offseason back surgery and was a cast-off from Purdue. After a rough start O was still able to right the ship.
Jimbo loses his QB in the 1st game and tanks the season. It took wins against Deleware and ULM at the end of the season to get to the Independence Bowl.
Jimbo certainly has an elite resume, but this season the "dumb Cajun" outcoached him.

All these LSU fans bragging on coach O must have forgotten they lost to Troy this year. Winning 10 games in a year that the sec is the worse it’s been since the 90s doesn’t say much.

I don’t think LSU could afford him either... hey at least Arkansas cleans house when they have a down year, LSU just promotes one of the worse dc’s in ththe sec to be their head coach during an off year

I did not. Look at how many issues he has had in the program or at home. I for one am very happy . I think we got our coach until otherwise noted. Players stealing , wife having sex with other coaches and players. Na, we good. Troll away buddy!
