OfcOurse we would not want a rematch because we feel LSU is the only team in the country who can beat us which is why LSU doesn't want or rather the fans don't want a rematch of that game. No one but LSU fans are denying this is the reason BUT that doesn't mean that were roles reversed LSU would not be deserving. As I stated before I the system says one vs two not comf champ should go. I would rather lose to LSU again in a NC game than walk into the sugar bowl and win big against a Houston or someone. I don't have a problem losng to the best team in the nation; my problem is that after our ge I don't know that LSU is the best team. I think Bama can beat them.

It's pretty simple. LSU beat Bama, therefore LSU is better than Bama. That is why they played each other.

this is fricking idiotic. You really think a 2 loss UGA should have gone over a 2 loss LSU that won the SEC? Gumps here get dumber everyday

It's just wrong if Bama that lost at home and plays one less game than LSU , the true conference winner, gets a shot at the NC game. it's just not right. Only if LSU wins would there be a true NC winner under those circumstances.

I think LSU would win anyway.

As a UGA fan, if Bama gets a shot when not even appearing in the SECCG, I would personally lead the pitchfork brigade to ESPN HQ after they made it their life's work to screw UGA over at the end of 2007

How can you justify UGA getting the shaft when LSU beat both the teams UGA lost to in 2007.

Easy to say what you would do if roles were reversed, but most non Bama fans don't want a rematch. Been there done that. How many do overs do you want? If they were to play again, why not best out of three? I know...the rules don't allow it. And you must admit there are fairness issues. LSU has to take more risks because it will have to play another game against a decent opponent while Alabama gets a bye for losing. I don't blame Bama fans for wanting a do over, and the rules may allow it, but you had your chance at home and lost. It may happen, but it shouldn't. If it does, Les will do it again, best coach in the country at bowl prep.

We won, hence we control our own destiny.

You lost, you don't.

Whether LSU and Alabama are the 2 best teams in the nation is up for debate. Some people are now saying Oregon has improved and is the best in the nation, that LSU's win came off of Oregon beating themselves (ie: turnovers, mistakes, etc.), and the crowd in Dallas was composed mostly of LSU fans.

Sound familiar??

In the event of an okie state loss, why should LSU have to win an extra game in order to play a team we beat. It basically means alabama gets a first round bye by losing and we have to play a play in game by winning.

Sucks, doesn't it? But that's the world we live in. Deal with it. Besides, to hear your buddies here, it would be a cakewalk over Bama, so order your fan championship ring now.

Holy shite. An actual realistic LSU fan. I congratulate you sir on living in reality and not hiding behind your fears of a possible rematch. I salute you.

I honestly can't understand why you gumps would think LSU would have any fear of playing Bama. We went into your house and beat you. Now, we're scared to play you in N.O.? You guys are way too cocky for not being able to back up your talk. Do you think ANYBODY is really scared to play you?

FIFY:

Many individuals on this site have lost sight on what the BCS is designed to do, which is match the two best teams against each other in the title game, after they have factored in common sense things like head-to-head, division titles, if they've already played, appeal of the game on a national basis, political agendas, etc, etc, ad nauseam.. Everyone WHO OWNS A SHITLOAD OF BAMA GEAR freely admits that Alabama and LSU are the two best teams, yet LSU and Auburn fans want to totally disregard that ALABAMA truth.

Georgia just flat out had a worse resume. LSU played an extra game (SEC Title game) and had the major advantage of destroying the team that ended up #3 in the BCS rankings prior to the Championship (Va Tech). Everything absolutely went right for LSU, all the way down to scheduling. VA Tech would've been in the title game if LSU had never played them. They also would've been in ahead of Georgia by the way.

And I think the "playing great at the end of the year" BS is overblown, much like it was with '06 LSU. Georgia dominated Auburn that year but didnt really dominate anyone else (3 point win at Vandy, 10 point win vs. Troy). Then they beat a shitty Hawaii team badly in their bowl game. I think there a lot of parallels with 06 LSU (blew out overmatched Notre Dame in bowl, squeaked by a terrible Ole Miss team in OT at home). Neither deserved a title shot

I don't know about that, most of the sports writers I've seen that don't live in the south all complain about how boring that game was. I'm all for a Bama rematch but I just don't see the human element allowing it.

Especially if Stanford wins out and Oregon plays an EXTRA GAME. They West Coast media will drop Bama to 6 in their polls en masse... and Oklahoma would look like the SENSIBLE thing to do by splitting the difference.

Bama lost to LSU ALREADY, AT HOME, in a game in which they were a CLEAR favorite. They were tested and FAILED.

NEXT.
