re: Michigan's Kyle Whittingham says there’s no place for hatred in rivalry with Ohio State

Not really. It's a different lens from a fan's perspective, but pretty normal for coaches of "rival" teams to be friends. The Woody Hayes era of "coach rival hate" has long gone.

It’s got to be top of mind when they face England, right?
100%. They literally were saying "this was our final, beating England was more important than anything else". Do they want to beat Spain? Of course but this semi was their SEC game. It just meant more.

This is so true. WTF was Tuchel thinking by parking the bus after going only 1-0 up on the greatest attacking team in the world? Never rated him at Chelsea, and although he has done an admittedly good job getting ENG to the semifinals in the WC, he done F'D this one up in a major league fashion.

They're really good actors.
I went to ENG v DR CONGO and ENG v ARG and they were both crazy in different ways. CONGO fans were expecting nothing and just glad to be there and the ARG fans were mostly polite, but you could tell some of them wanted their islands back badly. Great experience overall with this World Cup. I get it if you don't "Get It" but I kinda fell sorry for you if that's the case. This was pretty awesome.

Only thing I don't like is that the Euro elitism is very reminiscent of Canadian elitism. We shut the Canucks up for a spell. The Euros are still laughing at us.
We shut the Canadians up a couple of times. MOI and this last Olympics. DGMR I love Canadians, and Canada but that was awesome. It will happen with soccer, but we're not there yet. The 2-deep roster needs to be a lot deeper.

The sports are very similar in these concepts, and things happen much, much faster in hockey. Hockey players would definitely have the game sense and spatial awareness to be good soccer players.
My sister is a hockey Mom. All 3 of her kids play hockey in season and lacrosse off season. Keeps them in shape, similar hand eye skills and tactics.

Yep. If VAR were around we'd have beaten Germany. That still pisses me off.

Yeah, Japan and Holland are both beastly teams in this WC. Either can win it. We don't want that smoke unless it's a semi or the final.

re: What is better and more coveted: Wrigley Field or Fenway Park?
Posted by loweralabamatrojan on 6/17/26 at 7:18 pm to Tiger Ugly
Been outside of both ballparks (surrounding neighborhoods) multiple times, but never been in either unless you count the bar that is behind the centerfield wall at Fenway. You can have a beer and enjoy the view of the stadium from there. Never been inside Wrigley, but as has been said here multiple times, Wrigleyville is nice. Lots of bars, restauraunts and shops. This summer I want to do a game or two in each.

SC had a great season. Not quite ready for Omaha, but got pretty damned close. Restock the cupboard and go again next season.

UNC switched it up and started their bullpen ace, Caden Glauber. SC up 1-0 in the top of the 2nd.

Younghoe Koo sounds like a rap name if pronounced phonetically, but he's a Korean-American in the NFL.

The key to the game is to get Boaz out of there early. SC's best hitters are 30% less effective against left-handers. After that UNC will platoon through their bullpen to finish the game, but the more you wear them out...
...so I'm saying there's a chance. Even with a loss today, I can't be too unhappy. SC baseball is so much better under Stankiewicz, the new Dedeaux Field complex looks awesome, and the Trojans broke some records. Omaha would be amazing, but yeah. Fight On!
