Napier may not be that bright of a bulb. Rumor has it that he was telling folks that he didn't want to speak to any schools about HC positions until after the Sun Belt championship game.

Dumb if true. I guess that would explain nobody landing him. If we would have fired joe he was my #1 of all the logical candidates. I fully expected him to be picked up between y’all, Arky, and Mizzou.

I did, too. Rumor also has it that he said Arkansas wasn't "southern" enough for him. Whatever that means. Probably just a rumor.
However, if true, Mississippi State is certainly more southern than Arkansas.

Luginbill and some other ESPN talking head have both stated that Napier isn't HC ready. I have no idea why, but something is out there

Well, it took the State beatwriter from the CL to bring up State before anything was even acknowledged about them. Even then, Lane was pretty "meh" about it.
