Every accomplishment in Florida history was won between 1991 and 2008. Florida literally had an epic 17-year run and has jack squat to show for during the other 100 years of its existence.

And yet we're still a better program than Auburn over the past 40 seasons. You know, the time frame YOU created in this very thread.

Study your history before you walk in the front door….We compete for the SEC every few seasons and have so for 40+ years

Have followed the SEC that whole time. Auburn’s top 3 rivals (LSU, Bama & UGA) have never all been this strong at once. Add in several more win starved programs with equal or greater resources and every few years turns into once a decade in the new SEC.

Ummm.
LSU has 2 years out of the last 10 where they finished AP top 10.

Auburn has 2 years out of the last 10 where they finished AP top 10.

This being an LSU board skews the perception on auburn a good bit.

LSU has won a natty with their last 3 coaches and BK likely will have a chance before he’s done. Plus, even when the record isn’t great, there’s pro talent all over the field.

Aubs, on the other hand, became a complete dumpster fire at the worst possible time. And, hiring a snake oil salesmen like Cohen will compound that problem. He and the boosters there are a ticking time bomb.

The teams with huge resources are all capable of winning the SEC. That's going to be Alabama, Georgia, Florida, LSU, Texas A&M, Texas. Probably a couple others.

Florida, lol.

Get used to being Tennessee's bltch, though. Those two programs are going in opposite directions.

UF hasn't even hit bottom yet. The spiral is entertaining to watch, though.

Yet they only have 2 top 10 finishes in the last decade . Same as auburn (who barely lost their last natty appearance)

And one of those was one of the greatest teams in CFB history. They own a talent rich state & are one of the handful of programs who have proven they can stay relevant in the modern era.

Auburn has an undefeated season in '04. A natty in '10. And a heart break runner up in '13.

You overinflate the importance of one season.
Auburn is neck and neck with lsu the past 20 years.
And they did that without ever having nick Saban on the sidelines.

That ‘04 team was amazing and got robbed. Scouring the JUCO ranks for Heisman contenders & back to back freakish miracles is success, but unsustainable. LSU can build a program.

Lol what. LSU has 3 national titles in the past 20 years and has been to 4 title games. Auburn has 1 championship. Only Bama has more than LSU in the time frame. This is a hilariously bad take.

Yes - please remind us how 2010 and 2013 are going to help your school that is more worried about hiring philandering coaches than it is winning

I don’t really see how a Texas fan is talking shite to Auburn. Am I missing something?

This thread is about which programs are capable of winning big in the "new" SEC. That capability is certainly higher for Texas than Auburn.

Is that your measure of success?
Beating Auburn?

Or being relevant nationally.

You be you. If your measure of success is beating Auburn, let me know. I will believe you.

Missouri had their best shot those first two seasons they were in the SEC. The East was extremely weak and they at least could take advantage of that.

Nope. Proven false many times. Traditional powers in the East were down. The DIVISION was as strong as its ever been since in 2013.

I said it earlier. Maybe i should be more clear.

The only difference between auburn and lsu the past 20 years is nick saban.

Auburn has 2 undefeated seasons in the last 20.
LSU only has 1.

Auburn played for 3 natties .
LSU played for 4.
The difference is that LSU had Nick Saban and Auburn didnt.

Yeah, people thinking because Auburn is down right now we will stay down do not know their SEC history. We have down times. We are not the state school and that hurts us. But we strive for success and do everything necessary to make that happen.

It’s still an awful point. The only difference between Georgia and 0 national titles and 0 undefeated seasons in the last 40 years is Kirby Smart.

The only difference in Florida having 3 national championships in the last quarter century instead of 1 is Urban Meyer.

Auburn has 1 national title. LSU has 3 in that same time frame. They are not the same.
