Gator fans are the only SEC fans that consistently pull for Bama for some reason.

I'll be honest. Before the game, all week here, I was hoping 'Bama would beat their Austin asses. And not in the way the Austinites would like it. I'm an SEC dick rider when it comes to football.

The effort that Texas gave, and the fan support, got my attention. And the folks here that tried to give visiting fans tips on good places to eat and drink was cool as a fan.

Now ? I don't know if they are alters, or just insufferable Gumps, but the mule-headed insistence that a safety isn't a safety ? I won't mind seeing Bama's run come to an end.

We're still celebrating Nick losing another NC game.

Watching Alabama play Texas for us? Is probably like watching Auburn play Tennessee for you.

We're delighted to see one team lose but annoyed that the other team had to win.

That game was a can't lose for anyone not a fan of one of the two teams. Whorn tears, bama tears......all the same, really.

Except I think both fanbases are feeling pretty good

I think Alabama's fan base is feeling more relieved than good.

Not your big win over the local community college?

That's because you're a loser Stevie. A loser who pulls for a loser school.

Much like some are victims of TDS, there are also those who suffer from BDS (Bama Derangement Syndrome) They would rather see Bama fail than their own team succeed.

No one in the sec wanted Bama to lose. Everybody knows that. Sec is communal and loves conference above all. No other conference chants its name at games between two teams. Think about it.

ell me the truth, how mad were you when Bryce Young took off up the sideline to set us up for the FG? Lmao

Not at all. I wasn't even watching the game, I was on the National Mall and was visiting with relatives. I was surprised that the game was close, but I never thought it would be within a TD. I guess I read too much hype by the Cult members.

Meh. It was a much more competitive game than I thought it was going to be. Many unforced (and uncharacteristic) miscues on the part of Bama. Surprising.

All the love ESPN and the game commentators gave Texas...similar to last years hype about Happy Valley and the white out prior to Auburn game. I was glad Bama won. Not many programs can play that poorly and get out with a win. Knowing coach Saban, that was the best thing to wake his team up.

When Bama plays it's the other teams' Super Bowl. You don't see fans all over the country holding up signs saying we want Florida or Georgia or LSU now do you? You're going to get their best shot.

I was making a veiled reference to some Alabama fans insisting that Alabama would have beaten Georgia had Williams not gone down. (Completely ignoring all the players Georgia had missing in spit of it being pointed out to them on numerous ocassions)
