re: How many of UGA’s 7 losses in the last 8 games are due to Kirby’s gameday coaching?

You gonna give him credit for all his coaching wins too or was that just recruiting? You also gonna give him credit for recruiting an elite roster or were you just looking to bash Kirby??

Maybe read the thread first. It will answer your question

Your coach has lost 87.5% of his games against the one team that consistently has a similar level of talent than him and I’m the dumb one?

To be fair , 6 of the 8 matchups he didn’t have similar talent.

Bama was a much more talented roster in 2017 and 2020 compared to Georgia. Now he’s still 1-4 vs them with equal talent but it should be noted the first 2 he was fighting up a weight class and ironically the games were all-timers.

The question is if his gameday coaching is why he is 1-7 against the main team he’s faced with comparable talent.

I’d say he definitely has a Bama road block. Georgia should’ve beat Bama a couple months ago. Kirby did some very poor coaching for most of the game and it easily cost them the game.

His record against the few out of conference teams with similar talent is pretty good so it looks like Bama just owns real estate in his head.

Yes it did, you keep harping on the Bama record & ignoring the games against Texas, OSU, the 2017-2020 games before UGA had built a talent advantage etc.

You are getting tunnel vision here and ignoring the folks like me pointing it out

Kirby's gameplans are a 3 but adjustments and composure are a 9-10

In general the head coach makes the call to "go for it" or "run a fake". The actual play comes from the playcaller/coordinator (and Kirby is not the offensive or defensive play caller for UGA) Most of the time I'm not upset with Kirby's call to go for it on 4th for example. I'm more upset with the play that gets called in those scenarios. It all comes back to him because it's his staff... but the actual playcall likely isn't his in these scenarios.

I hear this, but most HCs are on the headset and have veto power over the call. Some of those calls just haven’t been good in the face of the game flow. People referencing a few that went right against Texas (when he probably didn’t even need a couple of those) doesn’t mean it was the right call.

I’ll give him last year’s SECCG call against Texas, that was one that looked like UGA was going to lose and Kirby’s gamble paid off. Most of the ones against Bama weren’t needed to win the game, and ultimately lost them.

1 vs 4 is different, but not THAT different. And 2020 UGA was ranked higher. By your standards, UGA was substantially more talented last year and he almost got run out off the field.

A very reasonable post until the composure mention. His composure is one of the main things that’s let him down in the Bama games.

Read the thread again, covered that.

How many has he won? I know he had the OT win, but I honestly didn’t watch that one closely enough to remember the coaching dynamics in it. He won it though.

Already addressed this one too. UGA was top 4 in all of those and rated higher in 2020. If you are going to add nuance, then you have to add nuance to 2023-2025 too (not to mention 2021 entire units being injured…I know, I know).

Irony is ironic.

I know a guy that went to HS with Sumrall. He isn’t a good coach due to intellect or analytical ability.
