tailgating is all about what lot you are in. If you are with the big money folks, it is a blast and first class.

Quantity wise, we have as much tailgating as anyone else. The problem is it is all over the damn place in every direction and segregated. I'd say the two furthest tailgating areas from each other are a 40 min walk.

I've never been, but I've only heard good things about Mizzou's campus.

Post your brutally honest perceptions of Columbia, Mizzou's campus, and Mizzou's football stadium

Columbia = really enjoyed it. Went to LSU baseball series with a Mizzou alumni and he showed us around. Great local bars. I'd go back.

Faurot Field = drove past during that baseball weekend. Honest opinion is it's Wolf shite. Looks like a wolf ate it and shite it off a cliff. I'd rank it alongside War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.

Overall, I'd go back up for games and I'd have a good time in Columbia.

ETA: IMO 1. our stadium needs a lot of work (which we are doing) although it does seat 71,000.

2. Our campus is gorgeous ...I'm curious why a poster previously thought we were bottom half.

3. Tailgating sucks donkey balls. Seriously, Vandy probably tailgates better than us. The university administration is brutal on our tailgating scene. Go to a Chiefs/Royals game if you want to tailgate. The St. Louis folk drag down our tailgating abilities

The spread out factor of our tailgating is terrible, but outside of that it is good.

I went up last year... Very cool town, Very nice Campus. Stadium was below average but I think the new upgrades will move Faurot up the list a lot. The UGA game was a night game & honestly the tailgating IMO was subpar... Basically we arrived at 11:00 & the Campus was dead. WTF???...

UGA Alumni arse. had a big (3,500 tix sold) tailgate at Lowry Mall on Campus that started at 3:00 & this was about when the Mizzou crowd started to show up in force...

TL,DR... Loved the town, Loved the Campus, fans were friendly (maybe a lil skittish since we were the 1st SEC fans to visit) & I'd recommend the trip to anyone...

We got there around 4:00 so it was pretty happening...love the college town atmosphere
unlike Columbia SC or Knoxville...both didn't impress me.Knoxville is kinda a concrete jungle
and Columbia pretty much blows with all the dive bars and state fair crap going on.

Yea, everybody got your joke the first time I posted it. It wasn't me who went. Can only forward what he said about the visit. Maybe he just didn't tailgate in a good spot? Everything else seems to be par for the course from what everyone else has said.

Tailgating? What is this tailgating you speak of? We have no such thing in St. Louis.

It has been awhile since I have been and have never been to a game. I thought your campus was pretty nice but I didn't care for stadium too much. Dont really remember why though

I had some Georgia fans stop me to say how much they loved Columbia and how beautiful the campus was. They said they'd never been treated as well as visiting fans. This made me happy.

Our tailgating is very spread out. And you have to know where to go.

The stadium will improve.

Seriously though, I want them to build a new stadium for the football team because the tailgating is so awfully bad. All parking garages or cross a half dozen city streets to get to a small lot that has some tailgating. Sucks. Cardinals actually have a better scene because there are so many more lots and bars within walking distance of the stadium. Still nothing like KC though.

The stadium definitely will. Don't know about the tailgating though. Like you said, it's all kind of spread out and I don't know how you change that.

ETA glad to hear that from the UGA fans.

I visited in 2009. I really liked downtown Columbia. The campus was okay. Definitely wasn't what I was use to seeing....compared to the other SEC schools. The student union/bookstore was one of the best I've seen.

The stadium reminded me of a over-sized Vanderbilt stadium. I'd like to to go back and see it when it is completed.

Must depend on where you tailgate. I've tailgated in Lot C, Lot G, and whatever the lots behind Hearnes are and can't complain.

I do think it would help if at some point they could tear down Hearnes and get some more tailgate space. Also I think they screwed up when they cracked down on reactor field. That was a pretty crazy tailgate spot.

Which was why they cracked down on it. It wasn't just people getting drunk and enjoying some tailgating.

I'm wondering if this may be a solution. I believe the softball coach mentioned in an interview that he would like the new softball stadium to be east of Hearnes. Wouldn't surprise me at all if they eventually tear it down, build something new for volleyball, gymnastics, wrestling, etc., and create some green space in there for tailgating.

Columbia the town was fine. The stadium was pretty pathetic and the tailgating was way worse than that.
