Miami had more issues than Brees. That was one old azz roster outside of JT and his bro in law. Also, Saban drafting Jason Allen was suspect. Demarcus Ware and Devin Hester would be better picks.

7 easily
UA would be on there 4th coach in that time span, sharing old glory day stories with ND.

All the ones at bama plus a few more because he had to rebuild at Alabama.
Would have been fun to see if he had stayed at LSU and Alabama had hired Dabo instead. Dabo at bama vs Saban at LSU would be interesting.
Dabo never would have made it long enough for those games to be interesting though because the fans would have run him off after the third year. Him being unproven and putting up records like he did at Clemson his first three years would have gotten him fired. Especially with Saban being on an epic run at LSU.

I think Urban would've cut into that and Saban would've still left, prob. for a better gig (Chargers?). I think Bama would've hired Butch Davis after Shula.

So you're saying he's as good as Les Miles?

Because that makes sense

Saban at Bama had a AD in Mal Moore that knew what it took to win and was willing to give Saban free reins to do what he needed to do to get it done. Mal Moore turned out to be one of the best ADs that Bama has ever had. Am not familiar with who lsu had at the time so couldn't say whether or not he would have had that support.

Because Saban was in a dumpster fire at Miami is why Mal is considered great. Mal had some horrendous hires while being Alabama AD

None...
which would have pissed Saban off, he'd have quit LSU even though he loved the area, and came to Tuscaloosa without going to Miami which would have pissed the Crimson Stick bunch off even more...
Prolly about as many as he's attained at Bama.

You mean like winning golf championships and the sec's first softball championship? Those were because of him. So let's see, multiple football championships, golf championships, softball championship, while keeping the gymnastics program at a high level, which also won championships. You were right, hate to have his track record.
He was also instrumental in the expansion of Bryant Denny and improvements throughout Alabama's facilities.

I don’t think you realize he was on the verge of being fired when Saban was hired. Don’t know if you listened to Finebaum back in the day but he had several people tell him that the trustees were fed up wilts Mal’s complete failure with coaching hires. Golf and gymnastics don’t mean a damn thing when your athletic program is the laughing stock of the country for having a married head coach in hotel room with a stripper yelling “Its rolling baby it’s rolling.”

Probably 1-2 and it really depends on the administration he had behind him during this period. If given free reign like Bama has done then possibly 4-5 but if held in check by the likes of Alleva then maybe he goes somewhere else and history is different.
I agree with the thought that the Miami experience changed him.

He would have won 6 at LSU if he would have stayed.

around the same as alabama has had with saban
lsu not having to go up against a saban alabama team alone would have done wonders.. then factor in his recruiting and coaching.

I checked your math and your forgot an important variable:
Saban + Bama(REC) /= Saban + LSU

Not quite the same as stockpiling 6 straight #1 classes
Recruiting services have admitted to the "Bama Bounce", giving a kid an extra star because he's recruited by Bama. So your #1 classes like your number of national championship claim is totally inflated.
