15 or so depending on what kind of game shape he’s in.

I think some “rumors” by NBA execs essentially saying they need to see him play could be forcing his hand.

Missouri fans don't give a single frick about MPJ, they want him to play for selfish reasons.

I 100% want to see him play tomorrow. I'll feel cheated if he doesn't. I was hoping he would play against Vandy.

At the end of the game it is likely both fan bases will feel Geist is the most hated Missouri player.

Dude, MPJ is CoMo native. We wish him nothing but the best regardless. If he doesn’t commit, we don’t land Tilmon/Jontay and, at the time, Blake Harris.

With the team in position to make the tournament, we have now become front runners for Courtney Ramey at point guard (top 50 recruit) and landed SG Torrence Watson (top 75) for 2019.

We don’t do any of this without the MPJ commit. Play or not, he’s done so much for our program...

What a pusscake

There should be rules about this stuff. I won't play in a conference game, but I might hop in the tournament if we do well.

It does make you wonder if the injury is a lingering issue, because there was a some decent hub bub out there that NBA execs wanted to see him against college competition before the draft.

“on potentially playing”

Lol

His parents need to write his statements. They aren’t gonna let him play.

Could be. Why release dumb statements like that though? I get the kid has an injury and probably wants to play, but there's too much attention grabbing and no actual news of why, or what is really going on with him.

I mean if it is that he’s not exactly 100% post-injury they’re not going to come out and say that and potentially hurt his draft stock. If that’s what it is, it’s going to come out eventually.

I agree with you though. Just keep your mouth shut until you’re ready to play. People will understand if you don’t play until the combine or individual workouts. If I was Martin, I’d be annoyed as frick that he made his statement that he’d play and then you get this.

Yep. That's my point. No one knows what's going on. They need to get their shite together.

There was this on the Mizzou board and I agree 100%.

I've been able to avoid thinking/wondering about MPJ since he was pulled out of his only game. I've been convinced the whole Gonzo/Porter/Porter/Porter deal has been oh-so secretly choreographed from day one.

It's been great for fan interest (witness sold-out BB tickets) and seventeen jillion media/social media comments.

The most telling recent proof is head coach Gonzo not having the foggiest idea whether MPJ will play this season. "Gee golly, I don't know. We'll just have to see."

Please, give me a fricking break.

And the lingering, "Will MPJ go pro? Will Jontay return?

But it's been a well-scripted, entertaining drama, that's for sure.

I think Martin was annoyed before MPJ got surgery.

Sucks for Zou fans that one of their biggest gets in a while will never see the court in a Zou uniform

Of course they do. They all do. The NBA is the main beneficiary of the one and done rule. They don't want to draft a guy who never played in college because they know they'll be ridiculed if he doesn't pan out. And the players bring a lot more fanfare when he comes from college. They can sell that even if the player is just ok. If a kid straight out of high school is just ok then he's not gonna sell tickets the same way.

Which is why you need to make it only beneficial to the Lebron James type of high school player.

Granted the NBA could just have a rookie league and pay the kids 400k or something
