How many HR would UGA have in an average SEC ballpark?

The Dawgs have hit a lot of bombs this year but can’t help but think they are being cheated by Foley’s size

Left Field
Foley - 350’
SEC Avg - 328’

Left Center
Foley - 370’
SEC Avg - 368’

Center
Foley - 404’
SEC Avg - 398’

Right Center
Foley - 365’
SEC Avg - 367’

Right Field
Foley - 310’
SEC Avg - 328’

Total Approximate Field Area
Foley - 103,666 sq ft
SEC Avg - 101,910 sq ft

The broadcast said the other day that about 70% of UGA’s HRs have been to left of center. Given that and the above, I think it’s fair to say UGA is at a disadvantage with such a large home park.

Right now they have 138 HR (30 more than everyone else). Gotta think a full season in an average sized SEC ballpark (Alex Box for example) they are sitting around 145 or so. In one of the smaller ballparks (like Lindsey Nelson) the Dawgs are probably up around 155.

It is what it is I guess

As I posted elsewhere, we've hit far more on the road in SEC play this year than at home.

It's weird to me. LSU had a down year this year. It happens. We're not even a traditional rival. You would think with all their trophies, they wouldn't even care. Why not just carry on the trash talk with Tennessee. This year, that would be less laughable.

Don't most right handed hitters hit the ball more to the right where it is shorter? Aren't most people right-handed?

Honest question - have you ever played, watched, or even heard of baseball before?

I know..was obviously sarcastic. I used to hit a ton of balls in tennis and baseball to the other side being left handed. I also need contacts, was given a dangerous disease early, etc..God is testing my will. Hopefully I pass...still go to church every Sunday.

Down year and it still incites absolutely retarded threads like this lol. Difference in the two programs for sure and who’s actually felt success. To answer your question Georgia has tons of power this year. It is certainly a hitters ballpark though. It’s not hard to figure out.

What do you mean you guess?

What????

This changes everything

All of our 375’ line drive HRs this year shouldn’t count

Fraudulent SEC Title

But we've hit for more power on the road this year vs. SEC competition. It's not debatable.

Then I'm not sure the point. LSU fans keep saying we've made a small park and have used that to have success this year offensively. The facts just don't line up with that.

That was the reason this guy made the post.

I'm not sure what your point is. It was a response to continued criticism on here about one part our our outfield being short and the fence being short, as if that gave us some kind of advantage. Stats say otherwise.

I don’t know - probably quite a few in certain ones. Baum isn’t as small as Tennessee’s softball sized stadium but I will say that when the wind is blowing right, it becomes a very HR friendly park, when it’s not, it can actually be pretty hard to knock it out in a lot of spots. So I think there are other metrics than just linear distance. But foley is bigger than most. So again, probably a few. Wes is always going to have guys who can hit it to the moon - thats his thing.

I believe Vandy's fence is shorter this season.

Vandy temporarily moving right field fence

The only short part of your field is the right field and it’s hilariously short. However your power alleys are a little longer than some and your center and left field are appropriate. I don’t see what all the effort is about.
