Neither LSU nor Georgia could match the level of trash talking and combativeness and that is saying something.

Did they chill out once they learned to cut off their sleeves or what?

I moved to Jacksonville at the absolute worst possible time an LSU fan could. January 1990. We were only one season into what would become six straight losing seasons and Spurrier arrived at UF. It was downright brutal. I bit the bullet and went to all the LSU games there through the 90’s, so I’ve kept that streak going and haven’t missed one yet.

But yeah. The shite I had to hear day in and day out from these frickers around here who had just now finally arrived on the big boy scene really shaped my outlook on that program to the extent it will probably never change. Arrogance of Alabama, tradition of Vandy. Indeed.

I was young so didn't see it quite as bad as I heard it was.

I don't see it as much now for sure. I've sat next to visiting fans and not seen them hassled all that much. I'd certainly stay away from Frat houses and shite pregame and not be near students during the game of course..but that's any school I'd assume.

Florida fans despise Tennessee so they’ve always been cool with me.

When coach spurrier was there, if you didn't have a good game plan coming out of the gate, it would be 21-0 before you had a chance to adjust as the opposing coach. They pretty much pistol whipped everybody they played back in those days. And yes, the fans were obnoxious AF as a result.

True. Spurrier teams were nasty.

'93 and '94 Auburn are 2 of the biggest upsets that come to mind during the 90s.
UF was # 1 both games I believe.

Nix throwing to that huge TE and Frank Sanders was tough to defend for the defense. Then, the other Broward County Florida boys (Dillard HS) playing in the AU secondary were ballhawks.

Danny Wuerfel and Terry Dean threw about 10 INTs those two games.

Accurately said...they're like this even in defeat(s). Precisely what Georgia fans have said about Florida for half a century.

Yet, I'm picking Florida to beat Auburn.

We got the hell beat out of us. But Herb Tyler busted that arse one time. We were so hungry for a good win, the goal post didn't stand a chance. Lol.

Yeah both LSU and UGA got some payback for 1 season in '97

I remember that one. That was the year Doug Johnson took over for Wuerfel.

Our best DT Ed Chester knee was blown up early in that game and never played football again.

I have been to the swamp many a time.

I have seen us get our butt beat and I have seen 2 epic wins.

I still may go this weekend. I wish it were not so freaking hot.

I honestly don’t remember them being that bad. Florida (the state) sport fans aren’t that passionate. The biggest douchebag Gator fan I know was born and raised in Louisiana

I went to Gainesville for the LSU games in 1996 and 1998. I don’t plan on ever going back to that dump.

LSU and Georgia fans, the bad ones, are mostly just mouthy drunks. Florida fans in the ‘90’s were equal part snowbirds and north Plharda white trash. They were a perfect microcosm of their coach and team.

Just. Looking. To start. Some shite.

If you ever popped them in the mouth they’d fold up like a tent and run away whining. Sad thing was, very few could manage to hit them back. Frick Spurrier.
