Howell Park had a pool through most of the 1980s. We played American Legion baseball at Howell Park, and watching the folks jump off the diving boards at the pool next to the baseball fields was entertainment at its best.

Webb Park had a pool well into the 1990s. As a BREC day camp counselor, my park would go swimming at Webb’s pool once a week. This was summer of 1993.

Played it today.
Most of the tee boxes were in very bad shape.
Rest of the course was very nice.

A lot of Belaire guys hung out there. Some even boxed each other in the parking lot.

All I got is that chicks that lived at Fox Hill apartments put out.

And I went to Mugsy’s off N Littlejohn from like ‘88-‘91.

Tennessee game!
ESPN covered the CWS before LSU ever made it there. LSU made it in 86 and the games were on ESPN. Now any other game on tv during the regular season was an only dream. It was on the radio only.

I watched Miami pull off the “hidden ball trick” at the CWS in the early 80s.
I’ll take 2 if available

Didn’t age well at all.
The batter before that was gifted a walk on a no call strike three on a 2-2 count.
Bomb threat

School cancelled
I find this to be the case at some courses I play like Copper Mill and The Lakes at PP.

My guess is players don’t score correctly (ie cheat with mulligans and not counting penalty strokes), thus causing the course rating to be off.

There are lots of new golfers since Covid. Many have no idea how golf is played or scored.
Hmm. If you think it was only 10% full then you must not have been there. No it wasn’t a packed house but it was close to half full.
I agree that The Mavericks stole the show. The trumpet was incredible for The Mavs. Really all of the musicians for the Mavs were incredible.

The singer and lead guitar for 49 Winchester were excellent too.
