If he is playing this week, I will claim Stewart Cink. I went to middle school with him at Forest Hills in Florence, AL.

Patrick Reed is another one, though I guess UGA doesn't want to claim him

Better question

Have you personally ever played Augusta?

Zero for UT...but Jim Gallagher Jr. will be there covering it for the Golf Channel. So, at least we've got that going for us...which is nice.

I haven't played there, but I did get pretty damn deep into the interviewing process for a job in the PR department. I don't much care for golf (was actually a selling point for the gig), but I lived and worked in Augusta at the time, and it was a good opportunity.

The grounds are incredible, but the overall hospitality of the staff is nothing short of superb. Even the guy who runs your license plate when you pull in is exceptionally friendly. The lobby and offices feel high-class, without being ostentatious. It's impressive.

It is, however, the only impressive thing in the city of Augusta. That place is a shithole, and in hindsight I'm thankful I didn't get the job.

As for the original question, I don't know if USC has a golfer in the Masters, but alum Hootie Johnson was the director of the place before he retired and Payne took over. USC benefactor/financier/former BOT member Darla Moore was the *other* woman that was invited to the club when Condi Rice was invited. Her name is on our business school.

For A&M only Ryan Palmer.

As for Shiner, its not bad. If you want good Texas beer try a Saint Arnold, Jester King, Lone Pint, Real Ale, No Label, or Karbach. All have their merits, but SA is my favorite.

I drove past the course once on a business trip to Augusta. Could not believe that was where that course is located

Yeah. You can't see shite from Washington Road.

I wonder if the old Steak and Ale is still across the street?

I have loved the Masters since I was a kid and then when I was in my twenties I drove past it by accident. I always pictured Augusta Natl as being in some pristine suburban location or maybe way out amongst farmland. Not by strip malls, Ihops and pawn stores.
