The guy is one of the best coaches in the country. Some big-name jobs may be opening up shortly:
--Nebraska,
--Tennessee,
--UCLA,
--Auburn,
--Texas A&M,
--Notre Dame
He has proven that it just wasn't Dak Prescott. The guy can create some innovative offenses.
Can Mississippi State keep (a.k.a pay him) him there?

Notre Dame is a perfect fit for him but I hope he stays in the SEC

He seems happy where he is.

I can't imagine him turning down anyone of those schools.

We can pay him. The only place on that list I can see him actually leaving for is Notre Dame. The others he won't leave for.

This is one of the most misinformed takes on Mullen and MSU. He's already among the highest paid coaches in America. He's making 4.6M already. Half the teams on your list don't pay their current coach that much. None of the teams on your list are better situations than he's in today. He and his family love where they are. State can and will compete salary-wise. They are an SEC school and are in better position financially than almost everyone on your list, save probably Notre Dame. Nebraska and UCLA don't have SEC money. Auburn and A&M will be paying huge buyouts if they change coaches.
Notre Dame and potentially Penn State (although they seem happy with Franklin) are really the only schools I could ever see Mullen leaving for. All the press leaks about him looking for other jobs are mostly BS propaganda stories pushed by Ole Miss-friendly sites to impact recruiting.

I mean...if he didn't leave after 2014 I don't know if he'll leave after this year. He had Mississippi State #1 in the country for several weeks three years ago.

I don't believe MSU will get in trouble with NCAA for the Leo Lewis stuff, but it has to be a strike against him for other jobs.

This. His stock peaked then.

He 3-0 since current administration has been elected. Demand is prolly at all time highs for big time coaches. The problem for other schools is they missed the buying window. New purchases for Dan Mullen stock are closed... only liquidation to current holders once he turns 65.

In the years that he isn't a terrible coach and stuck at state, he has already left for Michigan twice, Florida once, and is desperate for the job at Maryland.

Mullen will stay at State until the Florida job opens

It depends.
If he wants to strive for true greatness, he will to go to a place capable of winning national championships.
State would not be that place. Sorry, but it is true.
OTOH, if he prefers comfort, less pressure, and lower expectations, staying at State would make sense.

If a better program offers him a job the I think it takes it . I think he will interview for a job or 2 in the offseason but will not get an offer.

You are thinking this because stricklin is at UF. the problem with this line of thinking is that you assume Stricklin will be there for the long haul. This is wrong. His next move is into NCAA or SEC administration. We are infiltrating the entire organization. Did you not see the refs this weekend. We did that.

Define "better program." This is the problem with most of you. You equate names or success five/ten/twenty years ago as "better program." There are very few football programs in better shape than MSU right now. They return almost their entire team next year plus some really big recruiting pieces. He has a better chance to compete for a championship the next two or three years where he is versus anywhere else he goes. I know facts are inconvenient sometimes, but they are what they are.
