1 year (at least) of investigations will hamper recruiting.

It's possible they get sanctions similar to USC. 2 year bowl ban and 30 scholarships over 4 years. So you're looking at 2026 until you have a full compliment of scholarships back to even offer.

Then, if they don't commit violations that would set them back, as they would be in the repeat offender window for a few years...you'd have to hope for a decent hire.

And if a decent hire occurs, it will take them 3-4 years to build the program. So 2029-2030.

So they could be looking at possibly a full decade of medicroty. And that's if the investigation doesn't take more than a year.

Might as well add 10 years to that total.

I’m so behind I didn’t realize Steele was there until just a minute ago. I missed most of the week’s drama.

Don’t think this is the right word to use.

They probably won't see a bowl again till 2030 when the sanctions have been gone a couple of years

Tennessee is a dead program.

They need to hire Nick Saban. It'll be the ultimate challenge for him. Can he bring back a dead program?

I would say a minimum of 7-8 years. And that's assuming they don't make a bad hire to replace whoever comes in and takes one for the team over the next 3-4 years while they're under scholarship reductions.

They were already a very bad team for well over a decade. The collateral damage of this internal investigation has begun in earnest. Factor in a 2-year NZAA investigation, then more punishment for at least another 2 years. It's like trying to make sense of a black hole by staring at infinity.

I’d say they were let off easy after what the NCAA did to Ole Miss.

When you say recover do you mean back to a 3 win team? Prob 4 or 5 years.
