Time and time again he destroys big programs. With all that has gone on with switching oc's twice, suspension and arresting of players, NCAA investigations and so forth, he still manages to put together an elite, disciplined team. I think it's a crying shame and a disservice that he as still refered to as a goof (watch every highlight and the first thing you see is him running to the wrong sideline).

He consistently develops players beyond their ceiling, weather or not he or the coaches he hires is irrelevant. The lack of lsu players on every preseason list was a direct insult to his proqram.

frick the haters.

I think that's been established.

ETA: For someone who says "frick the haters", you seem to care a lot about what others think about your coach

Only reason he doesn't get mentioned in the first tier is because when he does lose a game. There is typically huge coaching blunder at the end.

Still most people would not argue he is top tier. Just don't think of him right away due to his very comical blunders

Les Miles is an elite coach IMO. He is one my favorite coaches in the SEC, it is not a fluke that he consistently wins every year, you don't do that by chance.

Reason he gets "lucky" is because he prepares his players in every aspect of the game and they play hard for him because they respect him. He is a great person on top of being a good coach and while he has his misgivings just like every other person on earth, he deserves the utmost respect for running a clean program, winning games, and developing and caring about his players.

When he blows the game vs. MSU, LSU will be calling for his head again.

Yes. He's goofy and he is made fun of but no one can deny he's elite.

LSU fans want to be praised, Bama fans know our team/coach is the shite so we praise ourselves. That is the "frick the haters" mentality you're looking for.

Who cares if he speaks well on the mic, the dude can coach and recruit. I'll take that any day of the week over someone who just sounds good and looks the part...i.e. Mark richt, Mack brown

That's my guess. He does to much weird shite and crazy sound bites and they just don't want to give him credit. Hell I don't either but the guy is slowly winning me over.

not going to happen. Some of you really don't pay attention.

08 8-4
09 9-3
10 10-2
11?

Anyone that follows lsu football closely knows, our worst recruiting classes were 05 and 06 by far. the gems from those classes really fricked us in the end also (RP, odem etc)
