Even a dominant front 4 isn't going to get a qb in the shotgun in under 2.5 seconds. Something had to slow down the release.
knee injury. He's healthy now, ball is coming out quick, plus he's going to make some of your blitzers looks dumb with scrambles

Watch this guy's videos. He'll explain everything you need to know, including that release time.

All in all it was a great plan, but one that only really works if the front 4 can get pressure because you have to outnumber us in the back. It doesn't work if you are gambling and leave us 1 on 1 across the board.

We have good size at corner. But our front 4 isn't in the same league as miss st right now.

Can 4 get pressure on tua from uga? Yes. But it won't be anything like miss st. Not consistent at all.

I watch uga.

I am under the impression that you watch Bama football and can answer some fairly elementary questions.

My guess is Kirby tries to keep everything in front, mush rush and have targeted run and pass blitzes. Mix and match zone and pressures, pattern matching and all that.

Honestly, I think the biggest thing Georgia has to do first is make sure we aren't running well. And that's hard too because if you guess wrong with a run pressure it could be toast.

It'll be interesting.

UGA has gone with the quick release in games with a dominant pass rusher.

Blitz. No blitz. It doesn't matter when the ball is out just over 2 seconds. I wasn't sure if that is part of the Bama offense.

he a quick read and fire QB? Under 2.5 seconds?

Do plays take over 3 seconds?
Is he reading the defense and giving his receivers 4 seconds to break free?

What is his normal style?

So you haven't see him play since last year? You're in for a treat.

All of the above.

Yea, State smartly came up to take away quick routes and jammed us to throw off quick timing routes. If Tua has 3 more seconds those guys are beat deep, but they gambled they could get to him before that and mostly they did.

I agree. That is his MO.

I don't know how we will approach Bama. You are supposing that we play Bama straight up.

I am almost of the impression that we play to stop the big play (passing attack) and force Tua to slow things down and make long drives. That leaves us vulnerable to the run. But avoiding the big run has been one of our strengths.

We played Mizzou with our nickel defense even when they had a tight end. They were able to run the ball, but Lock had one of his worst days. Lowest qb rating on the season. We won the game easily despite allowing rushing yards and 4 rushing TDs.

Bama's run game is better. Our coaching staff knew Missouri wasn't going to beat us 1 dimensional by just running the ball. That may not translate to Bama as well.

One difference in our defense since Missouri is the emergence of a true nose tackle (true freshman Jordan davis). It definitely will help a nickel look keep linemen off our linebackers.

Then we will get some sacks.

Cheers.

Sorry Kirby, we aren't doing your leg work.

About like Saban's latest rant on the reporter yesterday who asked him about his game plan.

After asking him why he would tell him that information, he said, "How bout I call and tell Kirby, then you can call Kirby and he can tell you?"

Although, it's obvious Tua can get rid of the ball pretty frickin' fast. He's made every QB around him better, even Hurts, in that regard. But there's more to it than the speed, which is huge. Probably just as big is the eyes of a QB - seeing the entire field. Debatable on how much you can teach it. Let's just say that's pretty good as well.

You are even asking questions about MS State that are obvious to anyone that has watched them.

I wouldnt be shocked at all to see Georgia basically play bend but dont break and limit our possessions. Hope to make a few plays and get a couple short turnarounds and get to the 4th in a ballgame.

Very similar to LSU, defensively.

He is more than willing to sit in the pocket, go through his progressions and make the throw. The four biggest things that make him successful:

1) He almost never makes the wrong read
2) He processes information unbelievably quick.
3) He is agile enough to move around the pocket while keeping his eyes down field.
4) His release is instantaneous. Once he makes a decision, the ball is out.

A deadly combination.

I watch uga.

You could answer the question about your backend defense if you watch Miss St.
