If a police officer can not calmly let that roll off their back without taking personal offense then they are in the wrong profession. I sincerely hope you are not law enforcement.

So while I'm on my soapbox and touching the 3rd rail of criticizing the police amongst southern conservatives. For the cops can never be questioned and deserve more respect because they put their lives on the line for all us crowd.
For one. If someone is trying to kill your arse the cops will only be there to take pictures and draw the chalk line. It's on you to protect your own life and even the Supreme Court has said law enforcement has no duty to protect the lives of citizens.
They are there to enforce laws. And boy do they get a free pass for their often shitty marksmanship when they injure innocents with the spray and pray tactics. Make a Compton Drive-by Gangster envious with how much lead they will put downrange in public. A regular citizen will never get the same benefit of the doubt no matter how dire the circumstance. Every damn bullet you ever fire in defense of yourself will have your name, a probable prison sentence, and a trial lawyer attached to it.
Here's a list of the top 10 dangerous jobs. Oddly those cops who never hesitate to demand respect for their dangerous work are nowhere to be found. Make sure to give these forgotten heroes a special thanks for putting their lives on the line for making yours so much more convenient.

He wasn't a cop. He was a private citizen working as a security guard at the dome. Like it or nor, prof, you don't have the right to grab or slap my arse. Period.
Almost every article on the incident say he was cop who threatened them with arrest.
He was armed. Look at his left waist. He's kitted up with three spare mags. He was a cop and one of the douchebag one's that give the rest a bad name.

Okay after seeing this video of Burrow defiantly toking his cigar on his way to the press conference after the cop had threatened them with arrest gives me a newfound respect for the man on top of his incredible season.

Odell is a true fricking idiot and made an absolute arse of himself several times during and after that game.
Yeah maybe but not half of big of an idiot as the cop who literally threatened to arrest LSU players 15 minutes into their celebration if they didn't put out their cigars.
He was not a security guard and an actual cop threatening them with arrest.
Seriously who the frick does that guy think he is? What it takes and the sacrifices made for those athletes to get to that moment and he interjects himself into their harmless celebration. Literally threatening to deprive them of their freedom during the culmination of their life's work to this point.
frick HIM!!!!!!
I don't have the words for how little respect I have for that douchebag.

This. Replace the carpets if you want, send LSU the bill. They'd rubber-stamp it with the quickness, and probably laugh it off.
People keep saying "you can't touch a cop, what do you expect?"... but the fact is, the cop is SO out of place in there, that nobody can answer what they'd really do.
Has there EVER been cops trying to raid postgame celebrations of this magnitude? Past BCS games, Super Bowls, World Series, NBA Finals, NCAA Final Four?
This seriously might take NOLA out of the rotation for such events.
Right on man. That he had the gall to take it upon himself to go into that situation and stir shite up. Like I said that dude is a danger to society every minute he is out on the street with the authority of the state behind him.
You know the little bastard just eats it up thinking he can tell people what to do just because he has a badge.
NWA wrote a classic song about his type..."you'd rather see me in the pen then me and lorenzo rollin' in the benzo!" lol showing my age with that 1988 reference!

He should be arrested for his thuggish behavior. I believe the NFL should get involved. Disrespect of Police officers is unacceptable.
You must be the cop in question or one like him!
Police officers deserve no more respect than they give. In this day and age with all that's out there with the racially tinged police harassment, what in the frick was he doing in their locker room interfering with their celebration in which nobody's rights were being violated?
Alabama fans have no room to criticize here as it's tradition to celebrate a Tennessee win with a smoke and our players would act the same if little Barney Fife came into their locker room pulling the same shite.
What made him think he had a place to be there and to interject himself into something that was of no concern to him? Little want to be authoritarian bitch if you ask me. It was written all over him.
Eventually, a real cop came in and told them it was fine and too carry on and hauled Barney Fife's arse out of there before he ignited a damn riot.
That is a dangerous cop who needs to lose his badge and gun asap. That's the type that overreact, get scared, scream at the top of their lungs in a cracked panicked voice, and then freak out and shoot someone without cause.

It can't be any harder than going from 8-5 with a terrible offense to the greatest college football team ever in less than 3 years.
Think so huh?
Coach O faces his toughest coaching job next year. So hard for that sense of entitlement to not creep in. He's literally fighting against human nature. This is something that Saban understands and why he comes off as such a miserable old curmudgeon.
It's harder to stay on top then get to the top.
No doubt y'all had swag and backed it up. Well after finally beating Alabama anyway. It was off to the races after that. I'd be a little concerned with some of the behavior though. The singing along with STTDB and cash being handed out on TV etc. That's shades of Miami in their heyday.
Could be a spectacular fall from grace coming if coach O isn't careful. Is he going to rip his shirt off and be one of the boys hooping and hollering or be the adult in the room and leader to put these kids back in their place and tell next years team they haven't accomplished jack shite?

Champions don't flinch and don't make excuses.
Champions don't make excuses but they all fail. Even your current belle of the ball Joe. Michael Jordon says he failed more than he succeeded. You just keep moving forward and taking the next shot.
Tua and Saban are Champions so neither of them made excuses. That's the jobs of us fans along with questioning coaches and players abilities when they don't give us bragging rights!
To all of us who have watched Tua it was obvious his mobility was effected and he was playing to protect his ankle a bit. Instead of just being purely instinctual as usual he was thinking and out the ball came.
Whatever I love Tua and he provided us with more thrills than any of us deserve. He's a warrior as is Joe Burrow. Looking forward to some epic NFL showdowns between the two.

What college QB in history could you comfortably pick over Burrow?
It really pains me to say this. Cam Newton...ughh I think I just threw up in my mouth a bit. Auburn was an 8 win team at best without him.
He just single handedly took games over. I honestly think he would have taken MSU to the Natty had they won the bidding war him.
That said I would 100% rather have BDJ or Tua as a teammate, friend, co-worker, Son-in-law, whatever a million times before Cam Newton. My disdain for that smug conceited jerk knows no bounds. What a horrible teammate. None of his teammates in the NFL like him. BDJ and Tua will have guys ready to go to war for them.
Probably go with Vince Younge as well. Statistics wise it's Joe Burrow hands down. Checked every box and got the championship to boot. But does he turn a 7-8 win team with talent deficiencies all over the field and in coaching into a champion?
LSU has always had the talent. Finally came together with the right QB and decision to run a modern offense.

I think what really screwed with Venables this time around is he didn’t have a full fricking month to prepare for a team like he usually does.
I'm thinking the loss of a D-line that went 4th, 13th, & 17th in the draft last year may have played a hand in it a well! :dude:

If that's the way you see it. I disagree and think a healthy Tua has the pure natural ability to be one of the all-time NFL greats. Burrow I see as a year in year out 10th best QB in the league type talent.
Lot of hype right at the moment. Be interesting to see once the workouts and evaluations start to come in how it all shakes out.
Guess we will all have to revisit this in a few years and see how their respective NFL careers are going. If poor Joe goes the Bengals he may never get a chance to prove if he had what it took to be great in the NFL or not.
May be a blessing for Tua to fall to the Dolphins who have draft picks and money galore to build a solid foundation around him.

Defensive pressure was not Clemsons problem last night.
Dude they had to blitz to get it. Less men in coverage. Whole different ball game when your Defensive line alone gets the pressure and pushes the line of scrimmage back into the QB's face.
That's pretty basic football 101 stuff.

I think Bama fans thought they had in TUA what Burrow was this year.
We did and he got hurt. He was on fire and had the highest ever QB rating of 206.9 when he went down. Threw for over 400 yards of offense against LSU despite being hobbled and under constant pressure.
I expect LSU fans to say Burrow and they should be tar and feathered if they don't. Good to see y'all stick together and support your boy. Each has a strong case to make.
The turn coat Bama fans throwing the best QB we will ever have under the bus is disturbing however. Y'all Benedict Arnold's don't deserve Tua! It doesn't get any better than the show Tua and Burrow put on this year. Historic numbers from both of them and it's a shame Tua's season got cut short.

Any questions?
Clemson had 3 Defensive linemen go 4th, 13th, and 17th in the draft last year! All credit to Burrow for an amazing performance last night but that's a game changer when you can get constant pressure without blitzing and drop more back into coverage.

Tua can be baited into an INT
Hell of a standard to judge a QB by and one even the best have failed. Brady, Montana, and all the greats have been baited into INTs. Hell Peyton threw 5 in one half and out of mercy was pulled for the day. Tua had 6 last year and 3 this year before the injury. Burrow had 6 this year. Had a pick 6 dropped last night in fact.
To their credit LSU didn't drop their pick 6 against Tua. Had they it's possible they aren't even playing last night. That's the razor's edge of playing in the ultra competitive SEC West.
My pick is Tua. He's the most natural and physically gifted passer of the football I've ever seen. He's been blowing people away with his talent since the elite 11 camp. Not dogging Burrow as he had a season for the ages and made himself a very rich man. Don't think there has been a QB make such radical improvement from one year to the next.
Burrow is very accurate but Tua's anticipation, quick release, and timing in throwing guys open is unmatched imo. Even coach O said Tua has the fastest release he's seen in 35 years of coaching football. Tua had the lead in QBR rating at 206.9 when he went down despite playing banged up against LSU.
Tua has played at a higher level more consistently. 3 years Tua has been Tua but was at his very best and seasoned this year. Be interesting to see how both perform in the NFL. So many variables with what's around them at the teams they go to.

That's dead on skills wise and I would add Tua's quick feet as well, but Tua is the Goat so it's a tough comparison for anyone. Still give the 25 yard out to Brodie though!
If Brodie had played in this Offense with this O-line and receivers he would have put up some HUGE numbers. I remember a TD throw he made as a redshirt freshmen that was a literal 65 yard frozen rope hauled in right on the goal line.
Even with the injury history, lack of talent around him, and lack of titles Brodie went 2 rounds ahead of AJ in the Draft. Dude had some serious talent!
Fond memories of Brodie and was my favorite Bama QB till Tua came along.
