You would. You are a gump. You guys get pissed when your sister-wives don't worship Bama football.

I would be perpetually pissed too.

The greatest team of all time, LSU 2019, pretty much cured that for most LSU fans. You are welcome to be pissed when Saban kicks the bucket or retires though, whichever comes first.

His national championship plaque is still good for another 78 years.

Are you trying to point out that LSU fans don't make much of both Jimbo and O's records at their previous schools and instead tend to focus on what they've done at their current job?

I don't know what he was getting at but that's exactly what he said.

It is Texas turn this year to go to the Orange Bowl! Is that the Texas goal this year?

Will be interesting. I’ve always liked his offensive schemes and play calling. Had Miles kept trying to run this offense, rather than going full Bp Schembechler following 2008, I think LSU could have had a lot more success, even with its limited QB talent.

I like Jimbo more than most LSU fans on this board. But both he and Kirby are entering a two-year stretch where they don’t have any excuses not to be competing for conference titles.

He's 2-1 against LSU and Burrow/Brady aren't walking through that door anymore.

Neither is Kellen Mond for that matter.

I mean, there's a lot of the fanbase happy about that. Will they be after seeing a super-fish play this year? Good question. But to act like Mond was anywhere on the same planet as Burrow is nuts.

Mond completed exactly 5 passes that traveled more than 40 yards down field his entire career at A&M. I imagine whichever super-fish gets the start this year will beat that in one season by perhaps double.

Since 2000 only 2 Coaches played in their first NC Game after the 4th year at school.

Dabo played for a NC in his 8th year and won it in his 9th.

Mack Brown played and won a NC in his 8th year.

2000 Stoops (2nd Season) beat Bowden (already won NC)
2001 Coker (1st) beat Solich (4th)
2002 Trussell (2nd) beat Coker (won before)
2003 Saban (4th) beat Stoops (won before)
2004 Carroll (4th) beat Stoops (won before)
2005 Brown (8th) beat Carroll (won before)
2006 Meyers (2nd) beat Trussell (won before)
2007 Miles (3rd) beats Trussell (won before)
2008 Urban (won before) beat Stoops (won before)
2009 Saban (3rd) beat Brown (won before)
2010 Chizik (2nd) beat Chip Kelly (2nd)
2011 Saban (won before) beat Miles (Won Before)
2012 Saban (won before) beat Brian Kelly (3rd)
2013 Jimbo (4th) beat Malzah. (1st)
2014 Urban (3rd) beat Helfrich (2nd)
2015 Saban (won before) beat Swinney (8th)
2016 Swinney (9th) beat Saban (won before)
2017 Saban (won before) beat Smart (2nd)
2018 Swinney (won before) beat Saban (won before
2019 O (3rd full season) beat Swinney (won before)
2020 Saban (won before) beat Day (2nd)

So 2 coaches in the past 21 years have won NC after their 4th season, and only 1 coach has been a runner up after their 4th season.

It’s pretty clear that after the 4th season your chances of even appearing in a Nc game diminish considerably.

He will get paid 7.5 mil a year no matter what. He isn't going to win an natty, but he will still rape the Aggies...but I believe they are ok with it.

I agree. But he's been your starter for what, 3-4 years? Just playing devil's advocate since he brought-up a player that's no longer there.

So talk shite about CEO record at Ole Miss but forget that Jimbo brought down a historically great program to 5-6 in his last year, and they have yet to recover?

Only if Jimbo made the last 2 head coaching hires at Tallahassee. The condition you're suffering from is commonly known as "Jilted Girlfriend Syndrome." No known cure, but time, and plenty of it, has been known to lessen symptoms.

Of course, if he keeps beating your azz, all bets are off.

I brought up a player who put up an all time great season and the coach who was behind the passing game that led to it.

Mond has a few accumulated stats records at A&M but he really only has them b/c he was a starter for four years and A&M's offense being primarily run based pretty much up until Mike Sherman became HC and opened up the passing game.

For example, Mond holds the A&M records for all time passing yards at 9,661 and passing TDs at 71 in 46 total games. He was also considered duel threat who had a total of 1,609 rushing yards and 21 TDs.

However, the highest single season passing yards and passing TDs records belong to Manziel at 4,114 yards and 37 TDs both in 2013. Manziel's totals are an insane 7,820 yards and 63 TDs as well as 2,169 rushing yards and 30 rushing TDs in just 26 games.

While one could argue Manziel is a generational talent it's not just him that outshines Mond when you look past the accumulated stats. Jerrod Johnson played in 35 games as a QB (though 5 of those were mop up duty as a freshman w/just 7 passes thrown) and he put up 8,011 passing yards, 67 passing TDs, 877 rushing yards and 16 rushing TDs. Ryan Tannehill played WR for most of his first 3 and a half years at A&M (as a backup to Johnson) and still put up 5,450 passing yards, 42 TDs, 369 rushing yards, and 6 rushing TDs in 24 games at Qb w/just 20 of those being starts. His one full year as a starter he put up 3,744 passing yards, 29 passing TDs, 306 rushing yards, and 4 rushing TDs.

Now if I sound like I'm saying Mond was total trash I'm not. Even though I wouldn't even put Mond as a top 5 all time A&M QB in either terms of talent or on field play and I can also recognize that he had some brilliant moments and absolutely got better as his career went along. His freshman season he hit a paltry 51.5% of his passes in an offense designed to make things easy for a QB. His senior year he hit for 63.3% in a far more complex offense that required him to know a far more extensive route tree.

Long story short (TOO LATE) if Jimbo can turn Mond into a much better player who gets drafted it stands to reason he can do the same with guys who aren't coming into the program as raw project players.

Which isn't even a top 3 salary in the SEC anymore.

I guess its time to give him an extension.
