How long does Jimbo get from now on to win something?

Just finished his third year with a fairly strong ranking. People will argue about how tough this year really was with all the Covid bullshite throughout the sport.

He's gotten almost an entire roster of his recruiting now. He's had time to adjust from ACC to SEC. He's no longer "tied" to any QB not of his own recruitment.

I'll say he gets a pss on 2021 because of having to break in new QB. He can't tank and not go bowling obviously, but he shouldn't be expected to win the West.

But when will he be expected to get to Atlanta, win the SEC, and possibly compete for NCs without any excuses?

2022? 2023?

Hes still skating by on his FSU accomplishments.

He will get however long he wants based on that alone. NY6 is the ceiling for A&M as a program tbh. The SEC is out of reach with Bama and LSU in the west too.

Cope.

It's interesting that whenever someone asks about A&M, Tiguh fans are always the first to reply. I guess A&M is so "irrelevant" that you have to reply immediately so that you can attempt to control the narrative.

The reality is that he has another six years on his contract.

Probably until Saban retires as long as he wins 9-10 games a season.

This could be said for most coaches.

Expecting Jimbo to win something at Texas A&M...

This is all Auburn's fault now that I think about it.

Well he's struck out against Bama but 2-1 against LSU... Sneak that first Bama win in and continue that 66.6% trend against the tigers, I'd say there's your recipe for an SEC title appearance.

Then again, our history shows that in a year like that we'd probably end up losing to Ole Miss and Mississippi St and end up sending a 1 loss Bama back to Atlanta.

Depends on the metrics. If TAMU is using the Kirby Smart measuring stick he should be good to go for decades to come.

I’ve heard a lot of different people say 22 should be the big year for Jimbo, we’ll see

I think he’s still well short of hot seat talk

Kirby:
1. Multiple division titles
2. SEC championship
3. Playoff appearance

Pretty high bar to jump over.

Jimbo:
1. Zero division championships
2. Zero SEC championships
3. Zero playoffs

Strange thing is Auburn and LSU fired coaches for accomplishing more than Jimbo has.

They have medication now for that short-term memory loss of yours. That big payday at TAMU came with one hell of a resume. Natty, playoff appearance lots of ACC titles and wins and plenty of NFL prospects. But you knew that.

The LSU folks are quick to forget Jimbo's record at FSU(minus the don't schedule Bama year) and they success he had but Big Ed's record at Ole Miss just doesn't get much traction. Imagine that.

They all better have success this season because it is a one year fight every year and that includes Bama.

They didn't forget it when they were begging him to come to BR. The reality is simple. Their first love (Saban) left when an instant upgrade came alone. After their grieving period, they fell in love again, this time with Jimbo at FSU only to be left at the altar. So BAMA and TAMU are the reason they have to wake up each morning with that DL coach and his now somewhat moldy binder.

I get it. I would be perpetually pissed too.

Are you trying to point out that LSU fans don't make much of both Jimbo and O's records at their previous schools and instead tend to focus on what they've done at their current job?

And completely ruined a once great Florida State program.

Gotta give him credit, he bailed at the right time.
