It's already happening. The overly sensative pussies were already getting weepy about it.
What about that poor boy's feelings? How can you yell at a child!

Perhaps, and he won't mean it, it will be a fake public apology that for some reason the idiotic public insists on.
I've never understood why forcing someone into a fake apology is some sort of victory.

All I could make out was be a fricking man. Not sure who's going to object to that.

I remember Prince Wimbley getting an excessive celebration penalty after a catch in the 89 Sugar Bowl against Miami and Bill Curry grabbing him by the face mask yanking him down to eye level (a Lou Holtz special) and yelling right in his face.
Kids need more of that and less telling them how wonderful and special they are.

I hope he doesn't apologize. The kid did something stupid and the coach did what he was supposed to do. You can't make a boy into a man by pussyfooting around him.

So you wouldn't want Saban as your coach?

I love it. Its one thing to blow up at a kid for a football related screw up. This is a kid who did something stupid that he knew was dumb. Coach went off because of the damage his stupid act caused. 100% right and more coaches need to get this ego and stupid crap in check.

I don't think it something that will be common with Mac, but he knew he needed to send a message.

Let me say this, I don't blame McElwain one bit. If I was a head coach and a guy gets a 15 yarder just showing his arse? He is not only going to hate me on the sidelines, but in practice he will be wishing he was anywhere else.
As long as it's not a constant thing he's okay the problem is if he does it every game then players tune him out and refs start to turn on you (see Muschamp).
Going totally bat shite isn't a substitute for coaching but in this case it was over a mental error and not (as was often the case with Muschamp) a bad play on the field.
Mac does have to be careful about it though - - not cause Florida's players were pampered by the last guy but because of the opposite, it might seem weird but I really do think that for on the field errors (not discipline stuff like what Kelvin did) he needs to use positive correction instead of going off-- a big part of our problems offensively during the Muschamp era was lack of the confidence, it got to the point that players were so worried about being yelled at and torn down by Boom that they wouldn't take any chances and played like they were walking on eggshells the whole game.

I don't see anything wrong with it. Coach Mac is right. It cost his team 15 yards in a game they werent exactly dominating. Understandably he was pissed.

Too bad we didn't see this version of Jim McElwain. Instead, we saw a guy who coached like a pussy and constantly turtled up in big games against elite competition. Maybe this is a sign Florida will get a different, better version of the Jim McElwain I saw at Alabama.

McElain did good at Alabama. Was happy to have him.

A player showed his arse after a TD and got us a 15 yarder. When he came off the field Fulmer grabbed him by the facemask and pulled him about a half-inch from his face and ripped into him hard.
Next thing you know some 'journalists' and sensitive idiots were questioning his treatment of the players.

Savage that is different....McElwain didnt touch Taylor (although I know he wanted to

McElwain is receiving a lot of support for his actions and well he should. If he can scream at a few more players we might beat UK. Taylor is a good kid and hasnt been a problem...but he did a stupid thing...imo it cost us a TD on the ensuing kickoff.
Im glad to know that HC isnt going to tolerate some players losing the game for the others who want so badly to win. In my opinion he gained a LOT of respect from players last night. Taylor just might go off against UK and run the hardest he has ever done at UF.

Why do you hate Alabama so much?

ole miss fans are use to a giant beaver on the sideline

He needs to stick to his guns and let everyone know this was a "Learning Moment"

My buddy (UF alum and a middle school teacher) posted a fricking novel on Facebook about how disappointed he was in McElwain and how that's not how you teach young people, etc etc.
He's an idiot.

The reason I was OK with it was this:
It was premeditated. He wasn't some out of control lunatic that lost his temper.
He organized the team around Kelvin Taylor, sat kelvin in the middle of all of his teammates, and made an example out of him.
He's been harping on issues like this all off season, so to me, it shows a man that was calculating and not just out of control wild man angry.
Hence, I'm ok with it.

I've seen some crying about it from Espn figureheads. But only on their break from f¥cking Guy/Girl Jenner to look like they are totally in the times. Only sissies with no balls would cry about this. Taylor knew he screwed up, and I guarantee Fred called him post game and ripped him harder than Mac did. This team needs real discipline. Not fake Muschamp chalkboard hitting

If he can't take the punishment, don't do the crime.
I have no problem with snatching a players facemask and pulling him in where he see your tonsils.. Gets their attention.
As someone here said, Lou Holtz used to do it regularly.
