That type of shite has negatively affected this football team for a long time. He's trying to stop it.
Wait, how is it possible this attitude was on the team? If yelling and acting like an arse is supposed to stop it how did it ever start with this guy roaming the sidelines:

I would be embarrassed to be a Florida Gator fan. McElwain has clearly lost control of his team and you can easily tell that he cannot handle the stress, pressure and demand of the Florida fanbase

We never get the full story in these types of situations. In all likelihood, the kid needed to get a fire lit under him and in all likelihood Mac took him aside later and talked to him in an encouraging way.

In 10 years in whatever stressful job the kid may be working, he will look back and be glad he was pushed like that.

What about at press conferences?

Slow played like a fiddle with the melt build up over time.

Or says he's fat! Make me think of Bert every time.

I loved the tirade. I hope every UF recruit's mom gets a look at it. This is the family and caring atmosphere your son will be in.

Honestly, the kid had it coming, but it should have been done in the locker room where only the players would get the message.

Agreed, I don't really get the point of doing this on the sideline. Especially in today's world when everyone has a phone.

Fred was more concerned about PT than the yelling.

He'll be doing a lot more screaming Saturday night when the Gators are getting their arse handed to them.

Kids need more of that and less telling them how wonderful and special they are.
My son plays HS football (safety), his coach rakes his arse over the coals all game long.

He hasn't grabbed the facemask yet, but he grabs those shoulder pads and screams his head off when my boy makes a mistake. My wife gets all weepy and pissy about it, I sit there and laugh my arse off.

My son respects that old man more than anyone and would go through a wall for him in a heartbeat if coach told him to.

Yeah, our defense is so fricking awesome that neither the offense or defense will score while on the field.
