Looks like they're already doing that to me. Texas and ESPN pretty much told Sankey that he and SEC are now their little beech.
Besides that, I think they will try to remain neighborly in public for appearances sake for 1-2 years, all the while doing crooked stuff behind closed doors. After Sankey's knees are permanently carpet burned, Longhorns go for our throats. Just my opinion after living in Texas for 20 years. I've been able to sit back and observe them as an uninterested party until now.

People who think this way are so dumb. Texas knows as soon as they get in the door there is no way we throw them out. They will start doing Texas things within the first year.

Here it is real simply, whether the rest of the SEC likes it or not Bama will still run the SEC as long as the GOAT is there. But when Saban retires, I would assume in 5 years, then it is “watch out below” for Bama cause Texas will be charging full steam ahead when they see that opening!

No, it's not going to happen because Texas won't have any more clout in the SEC than any other university. As Texas will only be one of sixteen individual universities.

If the reports are true that Texas reached out to both the SEC and Big 10 with the stipulation that Texas and Okie are a package deal, they already did it.

Reading they sports forums, they are already stating they wont cheer SEC like the current league members do because they are Texas. In fact we should all be chanting TEXAS
