Saw him play twice his senior year. Not impressed with his passing. Seems to be a better runner than passer.

He will never be able to live up to what his big bro has done. He should have went somewhere else.

Yeah, he only won 5 national championships in a 9 year period...just think how many he could've won over that timespan if he wasn't clueless...

He's trash and riding his brothers coattails.

I'll add that while Lil Tua (or Tyson I guess) could end up being solid QBs, I was really nervous about things before Bryce Young committed.

Young is, by all accounts, a legitimate superstar. I'm not sure Tualia/Tyson/Mac are really close to that category.

I think he has completed one pass against a small High School from Akron, OH this year.

Mac can be solid

I'm not saying you're wrong, but can you explain what we saw Saturday? I understand them not setting up Mac for success, because who really thought he was going to play. But he came in and was just straight missing people...badly. When he did complete passes, the balls were too far in front of or behind the WRs for them to get any substantial YAC.

It may have been an outlier, but from what I saw from him Saturday, that dude shouldn't even be on Alabama's roster.

I suppose, if you think Michael Jordan's brother, Larry, is as close as you can get to MJ.

First half was clearly rust and not throwing and literally being tossed in mid-stream. I thought he was ok in the 2nd half on limited chances.

I'm curious to see how he plays this weekend.

People are idiots if they think Taulia is in the same stratosphere as Tua. He may be a decent starting QB but he's not his big brother.

Mac is a different QB from Tua. I think we will have a better gauge of his ability when the game plan has been set up with him in mind.

Taulia has thrown 1 pass, was a good not great high school prospect and a portion of people are convinced beyond doubt that he light years better than the current backup

I’m basing my assessment on the spring game in which Taulia came in and led the second team offense up and down the field - better than Mac Jones, and threw an incredible TD pass on the run that was right up there with Tua’s best throws - way beyond what Mac is capable of. This was after being on campus for 3 months. I assume he’s much better now. He’s also really mobile

It has nothing to do with him being Tua’s brother, however they have an undeniably similar style of play. Quick crisp passes, deadly accurate, and mobile

I was surprised by Mac Jones being the backup. Will the younger Tagovailoa ever be a starter with Bryce Young coming in next year?

He's supposed to be better and faster than Tua

Saban doesn’t do well with QB choices

If this guy says it, you can pretty much rest assured that he exact opposite is the case.

In 2004, it was awful watching Saban start Marcus Randall at QB, but even worse than that was looking at LSU’s sidelines that year and seeing Jamarcus Russell towering over everyone with a towel around his neck

bullshite. Randall saved our arse at UF after Jamarcus gift wrapped 14 points to the Gators. Randall also started the Auburn game on fire and lead us right down the field for a TD in the first drive. Then they pulled him in the second series as it was predetermined by Nick and Jimbo that Russel would get the second series It screwed up everything. Randall was also terrific in the Arkansas game. Jsmarcus wasn't ready.
