I know right. Gus had 3 or 4 full retard moments every season. He still has no idea how to scout his team in camp, so it takes weeks to get rolling. He dies not go 1s on 1s, so he does not develop offensive talent well. He picks favorites, like cox and will Hastings, and forces then the ball.... one win dies not erase all this.

I'd say a good 70% of Auburn posters wanted his head after to Clemson game.

Nobody creates more instability than the Auburn "nation"

I hope to God he leaves...he's a damn good coach the deserves better than your bitching fan base.

I like Gus and really hope he stays, but let's look at the facts. His last three regular season records are:

8-4
6-6
8-4

So right after completely blowing the LSU game, he was sitting at 5-2 with games remaining against his two biggest rivals, both in the top 5, who he hasn't been able to beat since 2013. In other words, realistic best case was probably another 8-4 season with losses to Georgia and Alabama.

Arkansas fans are dreaming . Every time a coordinator left Arkansas under Bert they said they upgraded and now look where they are at ??. They can’t hire a coach away from a better program unless that program wants him gone like Wisconsin did with Bert .

arkie fans have melted over bad loses just like Auburn. Not sure why any person believes leaving one SEC program to go to another one would be an easier job from a pressure stand point. Auburn can be a tough place to coach, but what SEC job isn't...Vandy?

USCe turned on Spurrier before it was all said and done...Fulmer at UT...Miles at LSU...Champ at UF...they look like fools now he needed a QB to be successful.

I agree with Auburn fans that believe we'd survive without Gus. History supports that statement, but I also believe it is best for our program to keep building on what Gus is doing right now.

In all honesty he would be out of his mind to go to Arkansas. Huge step down, and in the same division to boot.

Just my opinion, but there is a lot more to life than just work. Arky is his home.

How many of us, if we were offered a raise, even if the job itself was not as good, would consider taking it to be closer to family.

This is just my perspective, from my old eyes. But when you reach the point you are going to more funerals than weddings, it makes you want to spend what precious time you have near those you care about.

Arky isn't even a lateral move.

No way this happens unless Auburn fires him.

Another thing at Arky is that he would rule the state and would not be compared to Saban 365 days a year.

Half the fan base is split and the half that wants him is going off rumors.

Watch him win a natty this year and then leave for Arkansas. The ultimate middle finger to Auburn, who never truly appreciated him.

This is ironic coming from a uga fan.

If this is the reason, it is for wife and family, not him. He is one of those notorious sleep in the office, thinking and working on football every waking hour. For him, it really wouldn't be much different than being in Auburn.

If I'm understanding him correctly, he's wondering why there's been any discussion at all about Malzahn being thought of as someone who won't be at Auburn.

Considering there's some media pundits who have stated they think a loss to Alabama would mean Gus is out (despite the fact that with a bowl win AU, in that scenario, is still a 10 win team), it seems odd to think as such.

It would actually be more pressure at Arkansas if you believe he still loves the school. He is going to have around half the fan base not really excited about the hire. He has to win those fans over in the first year.

Zero chance, and I wanted him dispatched after the LSU game

Everyone clamored for him to buck the trend and win a big game against a rival, and he checked that box in decisive fashion.

Now, if Bama rolled us in the IB, maybe some of that "Arkansas can have him" attitude would return, but we definitely wouldn't fire him
