for some reason Kentucky can never have a great defense and offense in the same year

Same for us. Top 10 defense nationally in 2014, then 2nd best scoring offense in the SEC in 2015. But the other side of the ball sucked both years.

I remember Tennessee in 07 did a great job on defense shutting us down after we ran all over them the year before. Eric Berry had 2 interceptions and Jerod Mayo had a pick 6. Can't remember why but looking at the box score, Felix Jones only got 3 carries in that game. Guess he was hurt.

I forgot about that one, lol. That was Fulmer's last stand.

I was "done" several times in several games that season.

Tennessee was amped up for the Arky and UGA games as people had written them off due to their slow start. People were starting to call for Fulmer to be fired.

That was a crazy season. State got blown out in week 1 at home versus LSU 45-0. LSU loses an overtime game to a good Kentucky team half way through the season. Then about two or so weeks later State goes to Kentucky and wins by 17. It was also Croom's only winning season (mostly due to the defense) in his time at State.

Almost a top ten matchup between us and them. We were #11 and beat Kentucky when they were #8. I remember that game well.

I was at that game. Rained like cats and dogs before kickoff but ended up being great weather.

SC got as high as number 6 in the rankings. Beat North Carolina and all of a sudden.. lost every game the rest of the year.

It's not like they were a bad team. Such a weird (and fun) season.

Arian Foster fumbled the ball forward like 15 yards and Tennessee somehow recovered in order to kick the game winning FG.

Ryan Succop tried to kick a bomb to tie it 27-27 but it went way wide.

Arian Foster had a hell of a game vs us in 2005 too, but his fumble in the end zone was deadly with SC winning 16-15.

If that’s the year I’m thinking of UGA laid an egg in the Tennessee game Mark Richt style

Auburn's overtime loss to USF and loss to Mississippi State the following week still haunt me.

Y’all were outscored in sec play. That’s pretty bad.

Tennessee also had the miracle comeback against Vandy in '07.

Down 17 points in the 4th quarter and stormed back.

I dented my steering wheel I hit it so hard when UT pulled out that game. Every time I looked at the dent I was reminded of that game.
