He could throw a football through a brick wall.
There just aren't any plays that call for that.
You just haven't faced our defense.
God, I'm 8 weeks too late for that retort. Dammit. Why couldn't y'all have done this thread at the beginning of September?

Did not like Russell. LSU had better qb's before and after him.

Russell is the best LSU QB of all time, not exaggerating. The stats don't lie. Fans will throw out other names like Hodson, Jones, Mett, Flynn, Davey, and even Tyler. But Russell was better.
Russell's problem was that he didn't have to try in college because he was so naturally gifted. Those poor work ethics came back to haunt him in the NFL. He could have been great, but he thought it would come easy. It didn't and he folded.

Bottom line. He was and OK college QB. That's all he was.
Couldn't read a defense to save his life.
Let me know all the college QBs with a 68% comp rate, 3100 yds and a 28 to 8 TD:INT ratio

Maybe before but who was better than Russell since he left?

He was only as good as his coaching staff and his own willingness to be coached. For all his arm talent, I never thought he was a guy who was going to put the team on his back and will them to victory. Never saw LSU on the schedule and thought "oh shite, how are we going to beat this guy".

The Southeastern Conference determined that officials made the right decision in reversing a pass interference call on a deflected pass late in the Auburn-LSU game.
This is the first sentence from the article you posted as your evidence to support your incorrect theory. I hope that you aren't a defense attorney...a lot a innocent folks would be in jail

The league office's contention that the ball was made uncatchable by the tip is also false
The ball went straight up sideways, the opposite way that Doucet's momentum was carrying him, due to the tip and never got within 10 feet of Doucet...he would have to have poked a hole in the space time continuum and defied all of the laws of physics and human capability to get anywhere near it.

Auburn got away with one. Admit it. Own it. Move on.

He was the best quarterback at lsu talent wise. He never had good work ethic but it was his uncle from mobile who always made sure he did what he had to do. After his uncle died from cancer he wasn't the same and didn't have anybody to give him that tough love. I remember lane kiffin gave him a DVD and told him to go home and watch film he had on it. The next day kiffin asked did you watch the DVD and Jamarcus said yea. Kiffin said no you didn't it was a blank disc and he walked out the room.

I thought he was extremely over rated. Oh, He had the arm, the size but between his ears is where the problem came in. He would make some head scratching decisions. Could turn the ball over at the most inopportune time as well. Physically, yea. A monster. First pick of the draft good? That was a joke from day one and I knew that.
