Our d line is good, but too young to keep Manziel from going off. 54-35 tamu

OM really shot themselves in the foot last night. INT for a TD, dropped passes everywhere. Still, put up almost 500 yards of Offense on that AU Defense. TAMU might have a field day with them.

True Wrecking Crew? It's been awhile. Probably the 90s. We've had some flashes of D studs since then; but nothing like the Slocum days.
quote:

The “Wrecking Crew” defenses developed by Slocum, nicknamed famously by defensive back Chet Brooks, evolved into an intimidating force in the late ‘80s and well into the ‘90s. Their relentless, attacking style paved the way for seven conference championships, four in Slocum’s head coaching tenure. A&M ranked first in the nation in 1991 in total defense and from 1991-1993 led the SWC in four defensive categories. From 1990-1994 the Aggies never lost a game at Kyle Field, and Slocum would lose only 12 home games in his 14 years as head coach.

Just finding humor that an A&M fan would consider his team as DEFINITELY the second hardest team left on Auburns schedule behind Bama when they still have to play UGA.

It's not surprising for you to run to their defense having proven yourself time and time again to be an a-hole

Auburn is better than people think and Ole Miss is much worse than people think.

OM's mistakes were the only reason they lost. (sarcasm) If we don't cough up the football twice in OM territory the result would have been much worse.

We haven't played a complete game yet. We had lots of turnovers in all of the bigger games. If we play a mistake free game, our potential is high. That being said, we're really just a mid level team who plays much better at home with a very inconsistent passing game.

Auburn has the ability to win out and yes i'm serious. I don't think they will but they have the potential to do it. Ellis Johnson deserves a bunch of credit for shoring up that shitty AU defense so quickly.

Pretty sure there are some of the new Bama posters are simply Auburn alters but whatevs, I'll bite

With there being no dominate team in the SEC this year I also feel Auburn has the potential to win out but I don't seriously believe they will. Beating Texas A&M would be huge as far as reclaiming our spot in the upper tier of the SEC and would put us on the map nationally. Beating the Mississippi schools is what we're supposed to do but winning @ A&M, @ Arky, and @ Tennessee opens the door for an upset over either Alabama and/or UGA our two biggest rivals.

At this point I'm trying to take a game by game approach but its hard not to be excited about the possibilities

Truthfully they have a solid D, good RB and potentially awesome QB.

We left about 10 points on the field. We have to stop doing that.

Only reason they had so manyyards was when you run drives 3and out in 30 seconds plus have a defense that actually bends but doesn't break on top of multiple turnovers, it gives them 100 or so plays and 4-5yards perplay iisnot unre asonablewhen you are facing a team that is down the whole time and passing

I think we can. Before the season, I didn't think we would. We need a down game from one of those QBs though.

Not happening. I think they win, but their D is too bad for AU not to be in the game.

If our WR will stop dropping easy catches and come back to the ball on some passes Marshall woukd look that much better. Take Landry's TD catch last night for example. MSU had great coverage on that play. He turned, came back to help Mett, caught the pass and took it to the house. Yes Marshalls pass was a yard off the mark from hitting a wide open WR Fuse in stride, but if he takes 1 step left instead of staying on his route, you are looking at a potential TD receiption. Instead he had to try and make a diving catch in which he came up empty. It also seemed to me like Coats under played the pass they called an over thrown ball. He seemed to slow down a little just before the ball got to him causing it to be slightly over thrown. If he stays in full stride, you have a definite TD reception, assuming he doesnt drop the ball. Yes Marshall has been off at times, but his WR's are not helping him all the time either.... Just my analysis of the QB play so far.
