They should go 9-3 or 10-2.

I would be very happy with 9-3.

This is a 7 or 8 win team, though.

With all due respect how do you go from Les Miles to pumped about 9-3? You should be furious with that, why does O get to be average

Please keep in my mind, the sample of LSU fans you see here on the rant are generally the lowest common denominator types. The sane/sober amongst us are furious with 9-3, never wanted O, and don't expect O to get a pass for his job performance. I don't expect a Championship season every year, but I do expect to compete for them, and not lose to fricking Troy. Unforgivable

I see 8-4, but we could beat a team or two we probably shouldn't if the defense is stout and we can generate some turnovers.

I see 8 wins.

I'm not sailing on LSU here. I think y'all have a ton of talent. My worry is the QB position and I don't know that you have someone on deck to support the great talent you have around the field.

I think LSU drops two games this season they should have won.

here's the thing, I don't know that we have that same level of talent all over the field anymore.

I’m glad to hear that LSU is better than being pumped about 9-3.

You mean all of those three star recruits are really three star recruits?

If nothing else, Miles did bring in top guys. Not seeing that with O thus far, and that might be the most damning part of this deal (O was at least supposed to be able to recruit).
So now, instead of an All Conference level RB, we're looking at starting an also-ran, or maybe a seriously undersized local kid. Been a long time since that's been the case.
"DBU" is currently trying to make corners out of WR recruits, because we just don't have any numbers there either.

Seems like the talent we had, when it leaves, isn't being restocked like it had been.

Have you heard Les Miles talk? What about Orgeron? What is so hard to understand about the fact that he talks like us??

Usually you’re right. But I know of no LSU fan with expectations of 10+ wins. Orgeron is the head coach. Until that changes expectations will remain low.

Secondary is more suspect than it's been in a decade.

Myles has a long way to go. Could be a very long season for him. I would be okay, not happy, with 8 wins, but year 2 with a head coach we should be much better than that. His roster management is no better than what Miles did in his last couple of seasons, and that's horrifying.

Ed Orgeron is the coach, so pretty bad to sub par. Besides, all the talent in the world can't equate to championships when you have the embodiment of stupidity as your head coach. Hopefully, LSU will make some buzz in football, again. Although, they aren't necessarily a historic powerhouse. Was really Saban who got the train rolling and Miles's stubbornness that placed an obstruction in front of the train, thus causing everyone to die.

Front 7 is stacked. That's all I know. Maybe Not 2011 good, but close. Will keep us in games. Offense, who knows.

If LSU wins 8 it will be an achievement.

Offense is a total work in progress. Not one facet is known to be solid.

I don’t see what the declarations that the defense will be dominate is based on. Any team with power rolled over LSU last year. One reason was only one true first quality linebacker was on the team which makes it tough to play any type of 3-4. Well...the same issue is present next year...freshmen linebackers don’t count for squat in the SEC. AND the secondary is inexperienced, and there is still lack of depth on DL. A single injury to a D starter could cause the entire unit to struggle.

LSU must hope to squeeze out some wins like Auburn and Fla last year to keep from being back of the pack. State, Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, A&M, and possibly Miami would be favored right now with Fla a tossup.

I can only tell you what it won't be: LSU won't improve. They won't make a major bowl and every week will be an adventure because Ed is an idiot. Ed is what's holding LSU back and making everything worse. Hiring Ed O secured LSU a seat in the back of the bus. Who cares whether they win 7 games or 9 games or 10 games? They won't make the Play Offs and the only thing they have to hope for is upsetting somebody. If I was an LSU fan I'd be really pissed off at Joe Aleva and the entire LSU Administration for letting a loser like Ed Orgeron get his dumb arse hands on one of the nations best college football jobs.

10 wins if quarterback play is at least adequate and you guys find a good running back. DL will be filthy plus an always elite secondary.

If the quarterback struggles then 8 wins or less but an elite defense should guarantee an eight win season minimum.

I don't disagree with any of this.

This team is gonna be inexperienced on both sides of the ball.

Could be an eye opening year for the fanbase.

Its bullshite, he shits the bed this year, which is quite the possibility, his seat gonna be on fire.
