Fulmer's last few years in Knoxville were similar to Les' at LSU. Mediocrity with a few flashes or glory but it was time to go. As goofy as he is, Kiffin might have been on to something there had he stayed.

Dooley was a reasonable middle of the night hire but he was way over his head. Butch Jones was awful and Pruitt seems to be a bad hire. It was one game, but my goodness, Georgia State pushed them all over the field.

Can Tennessee become Tennessee again or are they now the Eastern Division of Ole Miss?

Maybe that’s what they’ve already done?

They’ve fricked up every coaching search for over a decade. I think the current iteration of Tennessee is the real Tennessee (and it’s wonderful).

Just play like they care in the next game. They've had top 20 classes so while it may not be all elite talent its certainly not lose a non conference game talent.

They'll bring on Peyton as an "analyst" and then the crowds will back away from the gates.

Will be interesting to see what Kiffin does at FAU this season, had that great 1st year then 5-7 last year.

They got UCF at home this weekend, they obviously weren't going to be competitive with Ohio State this past weekend but did keep it respectable at 45-21.

Having grown up in a Vandy household, trust me I'm no Vol fan. But save a sporadic year or two every decade, Tennessee had a heckuva program until 2007 or so.

If what UT fans were saying, the team quit in the 3rd quarter, if true, bad times coming for UT if they don't play hard for Pruitt.

That’s right auburn is good for an embarrassing loss every other year, but at least it’s a conference loss to a team that won more than 2 games the previous year

This is the new Tennessee. The brand’s as dead as Sears.

They are going to have to go out and get a serious coach. Not some upstart who MIGHT work out. They should be going after guys like Mike Gundy, Mike Leach, or somebody like Matt Campbell at Iowa state.

They are screwed. No rent-a-win @ Auburn this year

By “middle of the night” do you literally mean one guy rouses everyone else from their sleep at 3 in the morning and bleary eyed and slightly confused everyone gets together and the vote is 7-6 but Ralph didn’t vote because he fell back asleep and they didn’t want to wake him? Because that’s the only way I’m seeing that hire as decent.

Not sure. They've been digging that hole deeper for almost 20 years.
