You are right. Alabama will never struggle in football again. That is the more rational prediction.

That's not the part you're hoping for, because that part is a given. Alabama will definitely struggle in football again. Maybe even this year.

Of course they will.

Maybe by unrealistic recent standards set, but they aren’t going to actually struggle this year.

Yeah, he left the building. The next hire not only blew that place apart it saved Oregon from a fate worse than death. So, FSU's demise was the Ducks gain, on the positive side.

I thought the implication was clear. You're hoping for another Harvey Updyke to come along and kill some trees y'all don't care about (as shown by your own fan's actions) so you can pretend that's what Bama fans are like.

Don't know what Urban Meyers problem was at Florida. 2 national titles and he had that thing rolling. I guess its true Saban made him quit there. Too much pressure.

By most accounts, Jimbo left a shitestorm in Tallahassee.

Hell, the program was almost academically ineligible to participate in championships.

Yeah I never mentioned Urban Meyer.

Yeah, I did, when I mentioned Jimbo.

Did you suck this bad at reading comprehension in high school?

Hey now, that was harsh. I think you meant lots of creepy boomer types, but they have of candy in their vans.

Jimbo should have kicked Jameis off the team after the sideline incident. I'm sure issues existed prior to that, but to me that was always the beginning of the end.

Urban Meyer took Ohio State to the playoffs, won the NC there and is now an NFL coach. Jimbo Fisher drove FSU into the ground, can't even win his division and has a losing record to Gus Malzahn in his current job.

I'd take Urban Meyer all day long. Anybody with any sense would too.

I'm damn glad LSU didn't hire him in 2015 and then he didn't want to come in 2017.

There's no really no evidence in my opinion that he's any better of a head coach than O at this point plus you're stuck with his outdated offense.

At least with O there's the chance that he can make a good OC hire.

He's in a division with Alabama... lol. He would've won the East last year.

In the ACC...before Clemson was Clemson.

And how did his tenure end? It ended with a pity bowl game they got because of a technicality.

Yep, so were Gus Malzahn, Gene Chizik, Ed Orgeron and Les Miles.

Of course you would.

That was all before the current offensive revolution.

The game changed, Jimbo didn't.

Fisher has built A&M into a contender. With Sumlin, the starters were typically pretty decent, but if there were injuries it was all over. Fisher has raised the recruiting and National profile at A&M, and built a serious contender - the depth in the trenches is finally SEC quality. Beating Bama is a challenge in and of itself, but eventually it can happen

Let's take last weekend recruiting as an example. A&M had more five star, and four star players on campus at once than have had in decades. That will continue through the month of June. And those players aren't all from Texas either.

The game changed, Jimbo didn't.
Yes, that is why speed is the number one requirement at WR this year for Fisher. That is why a track star is the "backup" RB at A&M. Because Fisher is incapable of change.

According to Urban, his wife told him he was heading for a breakdown. I suppose losing a game that stopped him from winning 3 NCs out of the last 4 years, plus gives Florida their first undefeated season, plus is the reason Tebow got most of the draft-ready seniors to come back, might have been a little too much to bear. Tebow wasn't handling the reality of that loss all that well himself.
