You won’t have to worry about it. Texas will be in the bottom half of the conference
Maybe, maybe not. This has nothing to do with Texas. These are legitimate questions in my opinion.

Again, as i told everybody when I spoke to an employee of the SEC and was told that there was not a concensus on scheduling and lots of AD's wanted to stay at 8 games, I'll tell you this also.
They have no idea right now. NOTHING is off the table right now including a division set up. It has been discussed but with so many teams in the conference now it also brings different opinions in.
I can tell you Bama-UT, UF-UGA and AUB-UGA are not going away and will be annual games.
The biggest thing I was told is it is at best 50/50 that there will be a 9 game schedule within the next 10 years.
Sankey was wanting 9 games but also understood the need for lower tier teams to have better odds to get to better bowls so he didn't buck them. Sankey wants as many SEC teams ranked in that top 12 as he can and having 4 OOC games could mean the difference of having 2 teams in vs 4 or 5.
It's all about money

Yeah of course. Everyone is, because they're so good at everything.

Simply stating it is what will happen. You may disagree, but you're not changing anything.

Thank you for making the case against adding Texas and Oklahoma.

As an aside, are Texas fans concerned with this? They couldn’t compete in the joke that was the biggish 12, how in the hell do they expect to be 500 in the SEC.
And Tennessee could?

One of the things that is throwing a wrench in the whole thing are these bullshite artists who "want to play everybody in conference in a 4 year period"
The SEC HAS NEVER DONE THAT. As a Bama fan I couldn't give two shits less about playing UK, South Carolina, Vandy, A&M, Mizzou. I don't and neither do most of you. Most people just wanted to bitch about the Aub-UGA, Bama-UT, UF-UGA games being protected and felt left out. I certainly have no interest in playing OU or Texas.
Playing a round robin wasn't what made the conference great. It was the annual games with a seldom met foe throwing in a little excitement every now and then that made the conference what it was. Can you imagine if the B1G went to no permanent opponents and the OSU-Mich game was killed? yea, me neither. You need those annual matchups that bring viewers from other regions to the TV.
I would like to see a 5-5 format. For example Bama would play as perms
Ms State
Auburn
LSU
UT
Texas
Now, rotate the rest. OU for 2 years, South Car for 2 years, UK for 2 years, A&m for 2 years, Mizzou, etc, etc.
Why the need for a firm THREE perms is crazy. We need the annual games that made the SEC great.
10 games, as proven in 2020, is not too many. You still have 2 OOC games with one being a P5 and everybody's SOS goes up. The powers that be aren't looking at this the right way.

I didn't (and still don't) have a problem with divisions with more cross over play if the alternative is overall record with each team having not played 8 of the 16 teams. Imagine a year where Alabama, Georgia, LSU and say Oklahoma all play each other while Kentucky, Missouri, Florida and Ole Miss don't play any of them.

Seriously, shut the frick up already OP.

Who ever have the best 2 records will be the teams that play for the SEC Championship. Pretty much the same way the Big12 does it. Big12 has 14 teams. They take its top 2 teams and paly a championship game. That’s why TCU and K-State played each other last year.

4-4 is our floor, 7-1 and an SEC championship is our ceiling.

Texas only has 3 more wins since Mizzou left the Big 12, and lost to ku.

They will make the expanded CFP, but not have an opportunity to win the SEC.
